I chanced upon this quaint, cosy Izakaya on my way to the train station in Sakamoto coming back frm Mt Hiei. As it was early I was the only customer. The owners were hospitable even though they couldn’t speak English. Menu is all-Japanese, but there were some pictures, so I muddled through with the help of Google translate and hoped for the best. Food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely come again if I’m in the area.

坂本近辺は居酒屋が少ないですし、味も美味しいのでこのお店はとても重宝しています。 店内は、カウンターと座敷があるので1人でも同僚、小さなお子さんがいる家族層でも利用しやすいです。 お店の雰囲気は落ち着いていますし、とても綺麗にされています。店員のご夫婦さんもいつも丁寧です。 味はお通しもその日のお刺身も美味しいですが、やっぱり炭火焼きの焼き鳥がとても美味しいです！！ ただ、その日のオススメメニューもあれば、その他メニューも種類が豊富でまだまだ制覇は遠そうですが食べてるかぎりはどれも美味しいです！ しかし、お店ですが目の前の道路拡張工事のため、2023年12月末で一旦閉店→移転されるということです。 ただ新店移転に向けてクラウドファンディングも年内中にされてるとのことです💦💦 美味しいお店ですし、テイクアウトもできますので、気になってたら是非足を運んでみるとです！ 僕が大好きな手羽先載せときます！

The food was very very good and readonably priced. Good assortment of skewer options, grilled and seasoned to perfection. Staff were very kind and welcoming even though we did not speak much japanese. They have a google translated english menu, but you can supplement this with googling skewer types yourself if you are unacquainted with the skewer names. Very cozy and intimate izakaya.
