Cable Sakamoto Station is a station on the Hieizan Railway Hieizan Railway Line located in Sakamotomotocho, Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Corresponds to Yamashita Station on the Sakamoto Cable. The station building has been in existence since its opening in 1927, and was registered as a national registered tangible cultural property in 1997. Platforms are built on both sides of the tracks, and during times of congestion, the doors on both sides may be opened to allow passengers to disembark. The track has a not-so-steep gradient of 160%, but the platform is not a slope but a gentle staircase. After the overhead wires were removed from the tracks by 2007, rigid overhead wires for charging storage batteries have been installed only on the station platforms. The entire platform is covered with a shed from the time it opened. The station building is a two-story Western-style wooden structure built in 1925 (Taisho 14). On the first floor, there is a waiting room with benches, a ticket office, a shop, and a crew waiting room. The second floor is an office. One of the overhead wire pillars that has completed its role has been preserved as a monument next to the entrance on the first floor. The old name of the station is written above the entrance to the station building, ``Sakamoto Ei''. A Kowaka Kotsu Bus bus departs from the station. Restrooms are located in the station...
