浜焼き海鮮居酒屋 大庄水産 酒田店 — Restaurant in Sakata

I'm not a huge fan of seafood, but every so often I find myself in the mood or (more frequently) taken by friends who prefer seafood to other, land-based meats. On this occasion, they brought me to a fairly new restaurant, the interior of which is designed, I think, to create the atmosphere of a restaurant right in a wharfside fish market, which I like. Things went downhill from there.

Despite not being busy, the service was slow and missed parts of my order. It was a big group, though, so I don't want to hold that against them too much, but this was a mistake that was repeated several times. The food itself wasn't bad, but not great, and not really worth the price. I don't see myself going back...

Excellent! I rarely give 5 stars to a restaurant but this one well deserved it. Fresh seafood dishes, you can cook yourself or eat fresh. The sushi is outstanding! The atsuyaki tamago is the best I've ever had. The dishes look better in reality than in the pictures, which is rare. Very nice service, very friendly and attentive staff. If you're in Sakata, this place is a must...

今日は知人の車で出かけてきたこともあり帰りは、市内循環のるんるんバスで帰るつもりが、慣れておらず木曜休みのコースであることを知らず、タクシーで5000円以上もかけて帰る気にならず、本数の少ない電車で帰ることにして、時間までしばらくあるため、帰ってからの夕飯を諦めこちらに来た次第です。こちらのお店は全国にある庄やグループのお店ですが、それぞれのお店にしかないメニューも多くあるようです。

ご飯セットに適当におかずを注文。アジフライ、クリームコロッケ、もつ煮込み、気になった穴子の丸干し焼き。時間の関係でこちらの売りである自分で焼くものはなしにした。アジフライは揚げ過ぎで固く今ひとつ。クリームコロッケは熱々で濃厚なクリームがとても美味しかったです。穴子の丸干し焼はどんなものが出てくるか楽しみでしたが、今まで食べたことがない、ぶつ切りにしてコリコリした食感で面白かったのですが、天ぷらや煮穴子のほうが好みでした。穴子の食べ方としては楽しめました。
