One of the best craft beer experiences I've had! If you love craft beers, this is somewhere you must go in Sapporo!

We had a flight of 3 beers and each one was incredible. The dry lager was maybe the best lager I've ever had, and the rotating IPA was incredibly accurate to a PNW IPA (I've lived in the PNW for a decade and had a lot of beer, so I know my IPA's). The fruit beer was also good! All of the beers had a lot of complex flavors and were incredibly well-balanced.

It was not very crowded early evening on a weekday, but I suspect this place might be popular at later times. It said on a sign that they ask people to only stay for two hours if it is busy.

The service was really friendly - they helped us figure out that we could only order 3 beers for a flight, even though the ordering app let us put more on the order.

We also had the mackerel and turnip salad, and the Hokkaido cheese platter - both were excellent! I recommend both highly. It was really fun to try local cheeses.

I'm really not sure about the other reviews who said they didn't like the beer. Maybe I just accidentally got lucky ordering the best beers - but I suspect not. I think that Kotan is making craft beers, which are certainly a bit different from your standard Sapporo, Asahi, etc (nothing against these beers, I love them). The beers were ok, priced well, but you could tell they're a micro brew. Flavor profiles were pretty weak, but none of the beers were bad. Since the craft beer options are limited in Sapporo, I would go back here and try more of their beers. I wasn't a fan of the food though. The fish and chips used salmon instead of a white fish. Deep fried salmon doesn't taste good, I'm not sure why anyone would do this lol. Also, the "nachos" were just Doritos. Horrible Customer service. Rude waiter. Was super excited after seeing about this place and their hops in the Furano area. Food was gross. Beers was very subpar. Place looks nothing like the pictures. Minimum a drink order per person and was very rude about it when family didn’t drink soda’s was still forced to order after requesting water. Ordered 2 beers.
