It’s on the 2nd floor in a building. The wait was longggggg (I got there 7ish) and you wait in the stairwell. I waited 2 ½ hours. Everyone that night stayed & waited in the longgg line. I believe it was just okay but just okay for •me•. It’s not my thing. The veggies were so delicious & fresh in my dish. It left an impression and I wanted more. It did take some time for my food to come out because it was made fresh. I know that I ordered it too spicy for myself believing the medium would be something that would add zest but I was way wrong. lmbo It was spicy for me. The gentleman next me & myself finished our pitcher full of water off ourselves. lol We were blowing our noses next to one another. I laugh as I reflect back at the memory. When it was my time to finally be seated the employee keeping up with the number of customers asked me to move from the 2 person table they had me at to the counter so they could service a couple sooner. I was irritated because I had waited so long but you know what~ the Japanese want to try and accommodate everyone as much as possible which is so commendable and humbled me to wish my country was more thoughtful in that aspect. It made me think outside of myself. This place is very popular. The locals & tourists both were lined up. It’s a small place that sits maybe 20 people. The long counter sit 10 and the tables sit maybe 10-12. I am glad I did the experience but I wouldn’t go back. Sapporo is known for this certain Soup Curry dish & I believe it •is• good for people who enjoy curry and like spicy foods. I am glad I tried it so I could speak from experience. I went by myself after going up the Moiwa Ropeway so I hadn’t learn yet the secrets to dining in Japan or how to avoid or navigate the longgg waits. Yet I just went with it and learned… my advice is go with what your normal taste buds are or go with someone you can share & try different spice levels with. I’m used to Japanese Apple Curry and should have stuck with a milder spiciness. It’s a memory I will always remember. I think everyone should be open to try new things. I believe the food •is good• for this type of pallet. Line up early, 30 mins before they open. The label & sign for the restaurant is completely in Japanese text but you will know it’s Dan when you enter inside & see the letters DAN on the counter once you finally enter. The lady taking my order was super nice and very helpful and sweet. She even allowed me to order take away so my son could try a medium spiciness but with coconut milk. He enjoyed it and I liked that one much better. Give it a try but go early.

I‘ve been taught to say something nice before complaining but I figured the most important aspect of tonight‘s experience I‘d like to share — and that might help you consider your visit — is: We saw the queue of people, which is why I stepped inside asking how long it would take until we three could come in. The waitress said about 20min. We waited for 2hrs. We were told we‘re the last guests and after the group infront of us entered, we waited infront of the door for ONE HOUR even though —by the time we were allowed to enter (5min after their closing time) — around 10 people left the restaurant. It’s a shame they didn’t communicate anything with us. It’s a shame there was no supplementation service. We kinda felt unimportant and just another bill to be made. But now to the rest: The curry — fried tofu — was very good! I took medium/3 on spicules and it absolutely fitted my taste. The tofu wasn’t really fried but therefor the vegetables, especially the aubergine, were phenomenal! The portion — rice large 200g — was a lil bit small though. Still a very pleasant dish. The atmosphere was according to the situation. They had already closed and were cleaning in the background. The overall interior wasn’t really my taste but that’s just personal preference. The staff was friendly, but the language barrier — even though I tried my university Japanese and used Google translator — and the lack of organisation/communication really put everything into its shadow. So yeah: just be aware of the queue and be brave enough to leave the queue when your perception doesn’t add up with the estimation. Cheers

At 9pm, we arrived at this 4.7 starred restaurant. We had high expectations, only to be let down by the poor service. The food was alright. The deep fried vegetables in the soup were crispy and the flavour was okay. However, it was not worth waiting 1 hour, especially when we found out that there were spare seats in the restaurant and the waiter didn’t let us in. The reason for this was ridiculous. A female waiter with bleached hair said these seats were not available because they were unable to serve us food at the moment as they had a lot of orders from Uber eats. One would think that they could have let us in and we can order some drinks while waiting. But no, we had to wait at the door for another 30 minutes and were seated in the exact same seats where they said we cannot be seated. Also, by the time we were seated, all the recommended dishes were sold out. After we were seated, I found out why such a restaurant, which had a rating of 3.2 in Tabelog (which means very average) had a rating of 4.7 on Google - they have a discount for customers who leave a positive review on Google or Instagram.

Sure! Here’s a draft for your Google review: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hokkaido Soup Curry Restaurant Review I ordered the Fueatama Cheese Chicken Curry with Rice. The flavors were absolutely incredible! The soup curry had a rich, savory broth with just the right amount of spice, and the addition of cheese added a creamy, indulgent touch. The chicken was tender and flavorful, perfectly cooked, and paired wonderfully with the rice. You're able to customise the soup flavour and spicy levels when ordering. The portion size was generous (able to select desired amount of rice), and the presentation was inviting. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and the warm, friendly staff made the experience even better. This place is a must-visit for anyone passing by who wants to try Hokkaido soup curry. Highly recommend trying the Fueatama Cheese Chicken Curry if you're looking for a comforting and flavorful meal after a long day of exploring the city.

This place has a high rating and many reviews because they offer a 10% discount for writing a review. I went on a Saturday night around 8 PM, and there were two groups ahead of me. It took about 30 minutes to get in, and after ordering, it took another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Compared to other soup curry shop, the service efficiency here is a bit lacking. By the time I finished, there were five groups waiting in line. All meat soup curries were sold out at this hour, which was disappointing for a place that stays open until 11 PM. I ordered the seafood soup curry with broccoli topping. The soup curry tasted very average and lacked distinctiveness, though the broccoli was good. The restaurant should inform customers in line ahead of time about which flavors are sold out. Making customers wait for over an hour only to find out that their desired dish is unavailable wastes their time and feels dishonest.

Probably one of the best meals in Sapporo. We were back in town late during winter and most of the restaurants were closed or sold out at around 8pm, except this place. We went there and saw a long queue and decided to join the queue after writing our names on the piece of paper. We waited for around 45 mins. We ordered Fuwatama Cheese Chicken Curry and Vegetable Chicken Curry. Oh boy let me tell you this was probably the best curry soup we had in a while. Vegetables were crispy and the chicken meat melted in our mouth. You can customize the meal to your likings (soup flavour, spiciness and rice size). I recommend upsizing the rice portion and I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed with the quality of soup served. The restaurant operates until 11pm but be sure to come earlier to avoid disruption (they usually sold out around 10pm). 10/10 will recommend and definitely will visit again. 💯👌🏻🍛
