I really really wanted to love this place. We booked for their special uni omakase course that is only available for 2 months a year and was really looking forward to it. When we arrived we noticed that the restaurant is extremely extremely warm and we were sitting right in front of the area where they’re cooking and multiple stoves were turned on. It was a hot summer day and we were sweating so much. For a Michelin restaurant this was really so disappointing. There was just a single fan at the back but it was blowing mainly at other guests and we eventually had to ask if there was something to be done about the heat but all they could do was direct the fan alittle more at us.
The uni was really fresh, this is undeniable but the portions were so small… I was so shocked when the course ended. The course was suppose to be 25,000 yen per person tax included which was stated on their website but for some reason maybe it’s service charge but we paid more than what was stipulated but since they do not break down the numbers we just decided to pay and leave it as it is.
The portions left us still hungry and we had to leave and go on to find other food in the main city area. I understand that they may think that they put quite a bit of uni into their nabe hotpot dish but when each of us were served, the portion was barely enough. The cheesecake dessert was also so small and thinly sliced. I really did not expect to leave the restaurant unsatisfied.
Service was also ok, the chef came over to say hi at the beginning but that was it, I guess we don’t speak Japanese so that’s understandable that the interaction would be less.
I will not be revisiting nor...
Read moreMy husband made a reservation here for our 10th year wedding anniversary and it was such a treat!
It was a very intimate meal and the chef and the sous chef were very attentive. We were the only English speaking guests and the chef made the effort to use a translator app to explain each dish to us.
At the end of our wonderful meal, he brought us a special anniversary dish to help us celebrate, which we appreciated so much!
The food was impeccable, with beautiful presentation and fresh, vibrant colors. I highly recommend...
Read moreThis was my favorite meal in Sapporo, even compared to other Michelins star restaurants. This 1-star restaurant lives up to its name! The chefs were attentive and the dining experience was incredibly delicious and intimate. The food was truly inventive and I loved each dish, so much so that I forgot to take photos. Definitely book this place if you have a chance to try it. The kaiseki is extremely well priced for the quality and skill of the Michelin chef!!...
