First of all, the atmosphere is amazing! This is a breath of fresh air in Sendai, as this place manages to combine that free-spirited vibe of a Japanese Izakaya with a design décor that makes it a place suitable for casual drinking or business lunches. I was pleasantly surprised by the large selection of craft and local beers. I tried the Honey Lemon one, and a friend swears by the Bloody Orange. Another drink I recommend is the Red Wine Sangria! They even have a "hot" option in case it's winter:)
I had a nice selection of food. Food is tasty, nice portions and well-balanced ingredients. You can feel a nice mix of Japanese taste and Italian recipes. Make sure to try their selection of cold meats, and the vegetables with the butter sauce... heaven!
Location wise, it's pretty easy to find! I recommend getting a bus or train to Aobadori Eki Mae, and from there it's a 3 minute walk!
All in all, it's a good place for a casual pizza and drinks, or a good option for someone looking to have a comfortable and intimate dinner with a loved one. The drink menu is large, and they have all kinds of wines that can be hard to find in other...
Read moreAtmosphere: Very cosy and accommodating. A little on the Irish Pub style.
Staff: incredibly friendly and knew their stuff. I asked what was in their pasta and they were able to name all the ingredients, as a friend of mine was allergic to seafood, this was super important. Another staff was able to recommend me an IPA based on the fact that I liked a mild but sweet flavor. (Try #24 on their IPA menu. Hazy IPA I think it was called? I totally forget the name but it is incredible)
Food presentation: very good! The pictures don't do it justice. You can tell that they really do try and put effort into the food presentation.
Taste: fairly good. The fries were fantastic, and the garlic butter dip was also incredible. (Not shown in pictures, as I wasn't able to get a good one)
Price: fair. It's beyond student budget, but doesn't climb into what I would consider super expensive - I imagine a decent dinner for 2 might run you 5000-6000 yen.
Recommendations: the fries are godlike and so are the IPA beers they serve. Oh, the dessert (as shown in the picture) is also quite tasty. I'd also try their pastas!
Would I come here...
Read moreI came here after a long day of working and the place offers a great experience! The dishes were very tasty and well decorated. I especially enjoyed the black karaage (a sort of fried chicken). There were also various types of beers and they were amazing. I did love the Belgian fruit beer here, which was great with the fried chicken and French fries. The beef steak was juicy and gorgeous! Also, if you a big fan of pasta, they can offer a very nice one, I did enjoy it a lot. The chocolate dessert was fantastic and creamy! The staffs were very friendly with omotenashi (great hospitality), although I could not speak Japanese properly. The space was very cozy with nice music. I think it is suitable for those who are looking for a place where you can chit chat after a tiring day. The location is very easy to access (nearby the walking street in Sendai). You can go there either by bus or train (3 minute walk from Aobadoi eki mae). If you are looking for a place where you can get some glasses of beers and some tasty dishes on a Friday night with a group of friends, this is definitely the...
