DATENARI Honcho — Restaurant in Sendai

We had a wonderful birthday dinner last night at Datenari Honcho. Food was very delectable, we ordered various kinds of meat, but as expected the Sendai Beef Kalbi is the star of the show (although my husband begged to differ, he liked the Japanese Kalbi more). You should definitely order the meat platter. The service was impeccable, the staff really tried to communicate with us using google translate. We hadn't received this much warmth from restaurant staffs in a while! Our toddler received sausages as a service, free of charge. They also got to pick their own snacks as a present! The kids were so happy. They went out of their way to decorate the cake plating my friend surprisingly ordered for me, eventhough there is language barrier and my friend did try her best to explain what she meant using google translate, haha. They even got a sparkle candle to go with the cake! It was a precious core memory dining here on my special day. Thank you Datenari...

You want meat, this place has it. Awesome selections of beef cuts and the sendai speciality beef is a must.

The gentleman who serves us, got this rating from a 4 to a 5. He is a star. Obviously, english isn't his first language but he was able to use technology to allow us to understand how to order. So friendly, and even explained a cut in English, great effort.

Happy for this to be my last meal...

We visited for dinner on a Saturday night and has a great dinner. The food was excellent and the staff was attentive. Our party didn’t speak Japanese but several of the waiters had some English skills along with an English menu.

I was impressed how they made us feel welcome despite the language barrier and made certain we had a good experience....
