Had the上焼肉ランチ which consists of roast beef and kalbi cut. I had the option to upgrade to a larger portion of rice for free (not sure if that’s always the case as I didn’t see it online). With the set you basically get your meat, rice, soup, lettuce salad, bean sprout salad and daikon kimchi.

The beef was amazing. I don’t know if it was wagyu beef, but it was definitely extremely tender and tasty. They also give you the option of adding a chili or garlic paste. I liked the chili a lot so I ended up finishing the small pot.

I went during lunch hours on a regular week without a reservation and I didn’t have to wait.

Waiters were very attentive and made sure you always had a full glass of tea. Toilets also include mouth wash and toothpicks to clean up after your yakiniku.

Came here during a one day stop in Sendai. The setting on the 8th floor is nice. Especially if you get a seat at the window. The service was attentive and prompt and the presentation was nice. They have an English menu but you’ll need a translator app for some of the specials if you can’t read Japanese.

The meat selection is good, and not too expensive considering the quality. I learned that I’m not a big fan of gyu-tan (beef tongue) - the texture is not for everyone. In Sendai, a must-try is the Yonezawa beef at Kotora. We booked in advance, which turned out to be a wise decision given its popularity. Our server recommended their specials, , which included the melt-in-your-mouth tongue, a generous 200g rib roast, strip steak (my personal favorite for its tenderness), and chateaubriand.
