Okay this is going to be a long one. We are from Tokyo, and came to Sendai for a short visit. We had a Shinkansen at 9:45 PM and around 8:45 PM we decided to satisfy our cravings from a Palestinian restaurant. We found Zaytoon, a mere 15 minutes walk from Sendai station. We called to make sure the restaurant is open and arrived there by 9 PM. We informed our situation to the chef. He agreed to make hummus and pita bread in the next 10 minutes. But our real cravings was for falafel. Of course what is Palestinian food without falafel (Am I right ;) ) ? We requested for falafel, but the chef sake he ran out for the day as we arrived by the end of the day! But, we were able to convince him to fry some fresh falafel in the nick of time to pack.
Would definitely recommend their falafel, pita bread and hummus. And definitely go for their lamb grill. He have vegetarian friendly options too! He accepts cash and credit card!
FYI, we caught the Shinkansen. We couldn’t thank him personally, hope this message reaches him. Thank you Zaytoon for a wonderful meal and...

Then he said to my friend "you have 5 minutes". From the beginning his behaviour was very rude. We lost our appetite and two of our friends decided to leave immediately, still for the sake of promoting restaurants.. we decided to at least order two anyway. He was...
Read moreWe ordered the falafel plate and falafel sandwich. The sandwich came with fries and it was delicious. The falafel plate came with two types of hummus, plain and beet, fries, garlic sauce and pita bread.
The two types of hummus were ok. For me, the texture was a bit gummy, the flavor didn't stand out much, I felt they needed more garlic and lemon.
The falafel were delicious!!! So moist, not dry, not heavy, just perfect and great flavor.
Also the little garlic sauce that came in the middle of the plate was delicious.
I would recommend the...
