One thing that defines Japan for me is the way bacon is served in the better hotels. Crispy or not is a usual choice around the world, but it is the refusal to allow crispy bacon its natural path that is extraordinary in Japan. Each piece is flat and straight, regimented into looking splendid on the plate. The ordered Japanese mind will not accept its natural gnarled and curly, fried up disorder. |And so, with infinite politeness, Japanese society is made to conform to good behavior, tidiness, respect for others, quietness, harmony, tranquillity. |Nobody (except some Americans, who like Trump are impervious to culture and manners) answers a cellphone on a subway. Nobody talks on a phone in a restaurant. Highways are bracketed in soundproof sides. Even children are generally quiet but if not, they're indulged and educated by a parent rather than scolded. So it is at the Sendai Kokusai (means international) Hotel. |Then there is the little trip-run done by anyone you ask to do something. Rather than walk, they will half run -- to show you politeness. And if they have to say 'no' to anything, it is preceded with such profuse apologies you regret having embarrassed them. |My three-room suite at the Sendai Kokusai was enormous - the royal suite, no less - the dinner inexpensive, delight-filled and very French (there are Chinese and Japanese restaurants too) and breakfast a repast of note. I recommend...

Read moreI was forced to rescheduled my trip twice due to my work. However, the reservation staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped me to re-book my stay quickly. On the other hand, the location is pretty good. It takes about 5 minutes to reach Sendai Station. The route is very easy to access. There was a drawback about the hotel. The design of the casual twin room should be changed. It did waste some space. Normally, the room size should be enough for two people.Nonetheless, I could not even locat my luggage properly. C'est domage! Besides that, many good points for people to stay at this hotel. For example, the price is pretty competitive in Sendai. The casual room costs from 10000 yen with excellent breakfast. The breakfast was pretty delicious. It surprised me since the price should not meet this quality. The hotel also offered us welcome drink. The waitress there speaking fluent English was very friendly. I am pretty impressed. Some people said on the Internet that this hotel is not modern and not newly furnished. Nevertheless, I would say that if the basic hardware meets the standard, service would be the most important issue for having a wonderful stay. My mother was happy to stay there as well. All in all, a definitely...
