Stumbled across this place after our initial plans fell through. We ordered the fried rice, buttered scallops, sashimi platter and the udon.
Everything was delicious, though for the price I would probably skip the scallops next time and try something else as it was a bit of a small portion. From the reviews, we were really looking forward to the fried rice. It was delicious with a strong peppery profile which my husband loved.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Udon which came bubbling in a small stone pot that ended up being my favourite. The broth was rich and umami with strips of cabbage, little bits of crab and pork slices.

Read moreThis place is a hidden gem. Run by a genuine and kind Japanese couple. I run into this place without any idea. The other table sits 3 local fishermen, which is a good sign if locals like it. Fried rice with crab meat is a MUST. Can’t leave this town without trying it. Amazing fresh crab and generous portion. The amberjack sashimi is gorgeous and fresh. The sea urchin was sold out so I didn’t try. But it must be popular. You can’t go wrong with this place. I should bring dorna here. Read moreWe ordered 知床うに三色丼and知床丼。the seafood sashimi are so off, the salmon roe are sour and the tuna was really off and in brown color. We asked the owner about the freshness then he told us the salmon roe uses sour soy sauce and the tuna is the highest quality of its kind. However, the taste and texture are indeed not fresh.
