It's maybe 50 meters from the Prince Hotel (where the dinner courses are quite pricey, especially if you don't eat all the seafood). Here at Papas, we had the Caesar salad (delicious), Genova pizza which came out piping hot and is a proper pizza, fish sauté which was local fare, and very fresh, chicken tacos (soft tortilla with breast meat in a smoky and subtly sweet sauce). The garlic toast was a tad salty for the kids (but great for me and my nama beer). Complimentary local watermelon for dessert!
Every interaction with our server/owner was lovely. This is a quaint and tasty find, a perfect beach spot for when a day in the surf has built up an appetite. Read moreCame across this place on a trip, seeing the high average, went in expecting a decent meal but was thoroughly disappointed at the lacklustre flavour and overall terrible service. Ordered the daily pasta (tomato based spaghetti) and was served an insipid dish; barely satisfying.
Literally, the moment we put our forks down, the proprietress came over forcibly asking us to leave and pay. If there were other diners waiting for a table then we would have been accommodating, but it didn’t make sense to rush out people, much less at 7 pm, an hour away from closing.
