Terrible Experience โ Never Again The staff member at the BBQ check-in counter was unbelievably rude. He couldnโt speak English, yet he shouted right in my face and looked furious when I didnโt understand his broken English. I had booked a table for four, but he just kept yelling โNEXT!โ with no explanation โ so I had no idea if we had a table or had to wait. One minute later, he suddenly said there was a table upstairs. When we got there, more than half of the tables were completely empty. So why force customers to wait outside in the scorching heat at 12 p.m.?
The organization and crowd management here are a joke. Food is overpriced and nowhere near worth it. 3400yen for a table with grill for 2 adults and 2 kids including unlimited soft drink also overpriced. Seafood was not fresh as advertised. The desserts sold outside were awful. One visit was more than enough โ I will never return, and I strongly advise my friends and anyone reading this...
ย ย ย Read moreIn three years we have been here 5 times . Been all over japan and this is the best fish market we have been to. Thereโs everything youโd want in a fish market plus they have a fresh veg and meat section as well.
Thereโs also a hot food cafeteria if you want to eat straight away but the best bit is there is an attached bbq bit at the front of the market . Itโs a couple of quid each to get in and use their utensils so just stock up in the market with what you want to eat and just cook it here you canโt get fresher than that.
Tip: the fresh wagyu in the market is really cheap and really good quality.
Extra tip after eating all that food and want to relax ,if you stand at the front of the market and look outside to your right up the hill at the building ,that is the best super sento in...

The market is lively, with friendly vendors offering samples and recommendations. The oysters and scallops were incredibly fresh, and the sushi selection was delicious. I also loved the local orange juiceโit was rich and refreshing, the perfect drink to complement the seafood feast.
The atmosphere is bustling but well-organized, making it an enjoyable experience for both tourists and locals. If youโre in Wakayama, this market is a must-visit for an authentic taste of Japanโs seafood culture!
