”Kyoshu” Traditional Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Shirakawa

Kyoshu is a great coffee place. The owners are very kind people. They made us feel welcome. We visited on a snowy day. The view from the window was beautiful. All the white snow looked amazing. The shop had good music playing. I liked their playlist. The owners have good taste in art. There were many interesting books to look at. They also had a collection of vinyl records and sculptures around. The atmosphere was very relaxing. It was a place where you could stay for a long time. We really enjoyed our visit and happy we found it while walking around.

A visit to this cafe is really a highlight of my visit to Shirakawago. A very nice, warm, simple yet beautiful cafe with a very beautiful view by the window. We ordered hot cafe latte and chocolate, all is very good and nice.

One thing that touched me the most are they also allowed us to pray in a corner of the cafe, it was clean and warm. Thank u so much for your kindness and I really recommend this place to all people, especially to Muslim brothers and sisters who are planning to visit to...

The style of the place gives the impression that the coffee (500 yen) will be somewhat decent. In actual fact, it appears to be pre-made, sitting in a pot in a machine that looks like I could have bought it at a garage sale for 1000 yen. The taste didn't do anything to make me think otherwise. While the view was nice, I left feeling swindled. I recommend skipping this place and just drinking a vending machine...
