Yakatabune Okita (Floating Restaurant) — Restaurant in Toba

This is hands down my family’s favorite seafood experience in the Mie prefecture so far. The seafood is incredibly fresh, the service is again incredible (they grill at your table and also have different cooking styles like nabe), the price is just right (in fact very value for money), the owner Daisuke is very sincere and helpful, and honestly it was such a great experience. They are open to tourists and yet not gimmicky and you need to try this. Most people on my boat are Japanese. Really outstanding. I think my trip to the Mie prefecture for seafood is complete :)

Also, definitely try reserve the oysters, simply fantastic, we ordered 15 shared amongst the 4 of us. We would have liked to order 20 but...

A great mix of locally sourced seafood and standard Japanese cuisine. The scenery of Toba Bay is a wonderful backdrop to a delicious meal.
