Visiting the Pearl Museum is an incredibly fascinating and enriching experience that truly broadens your knowledge. The exhibition was detailed and engaging, covering everything from the anatomy of mollusks to hands-on lessons in telling genuine pearls from imitations (after exploring the displays, do you think you’d be able to identify which necklace is real?). Without a doubt, after visiting the museum I came away with a much deeper understanding of pearls and the industry behind them. And what an enormous amount of work it all is!
I especially want to highlight Mr. Mikimoto, a truly brilliant inventor who overcame countless challenges along the way. His method not only made pearls accessible to the wider public but also became an important step in preserving marine ecosystems. In my opinion, that is his greatest legacy to both nature and the world.
