The worst coffee experience I’ve ever had in my life!!! I went to this place with positivity, since it had been in my coffee wishlist for a long time, but left it with disappointments.
The customer management of this coffee shop is the worst! As they didn’t provide order number or asked for customer’s name, the female barista mistakenly gave my coffee to the wrong customer, without having an inkling. Luckily, that customer noticed it was not her cup after having a sip. She reached me and we then informed the barista about the mistake.
After having another long waits (if you’ve been here before, you would understand how long customers have to wait for their coffee), the male barista shouted that the drip coffee (not informing the beans name) was ready. So, I asked if it was mine, he denied by saying ‘no, it’s not yours’. But after a few seconds, he walked to me and gave me that cup and just said ‘sorry, it’s yours’.
Having made TWO MISTAKES in a roll to the same customer is unacceptable for me. I felt bad to myself to wake up so early and took 1.5 hr train from the opposite side of Tokyo to come here and hurt my feelings. Though the coffee beans this place offers are excellent, I will NEVER EVER come back again. I feel that I get treated way better from other coffee shops, even at Starbucks.
Lastly, to the shop owner, please improve your service and how you manage your place. Your baristas are work-loading and being overwhelmed. That’s why it is also your responsibility to help them through a better service system.
I give this sincere and honest review because I don’t want other customers to experience the disappointments as I did. Some customers travelled a long way, or even from other countries, to appreciate the good tastes of coffee and renowned Japanese hospitality. Thus, please respect their efforts.
P.S. Sorry I have no photo to insert. At that moment, I just wanted to quickly finish my cup and leave the place as soon...

I am a cafe enthusiast of all types and have been to 200+ in Tokyo alone.
I saw this on instagram and the beautiful aesthetics of the renovated house stood out to me. I assumed it would be a neighborhood homely cafe, but was thoroughly disappointed in every aspect.
The prices are ridiculous. Essentially ¥1000 minimum even for lattes. I can get coffee twice as good, 4 times as fast with warmer service at a bunch of other cafes in Yoyogi.
the service is pretentious. Seems to be a broader glitch issue but they spend an exorbitant amount of time explaining and overselling expensive beans. They intentionally don’t have a menu and force you to make decisions at the counter with a huge queue behind you. This makes people order more expensive drinks for no reason.
The atmosphere is performative. The house is beautiful but there is no warmth, no sense of community, no kids or families. It is just young people looking for a pretty cafe - like omotesando or Roppongi. It has immense potential to be a neighborhood hub like Fuglen or streamer but it threw that chance away.
They recommend light roasts for everything including for espresso which ends up with half baked overpriced lattes. My latte from Komeda tastes better.
They serve things in plastic cups which is not fitting of a premium establishment
the barista was doing unnecessary performative things like changing the water in the machine after every brew, smelling the coffee post tamping, tamping multiple times way too hard and more.
Overall, this cafe had the potential to be a beautiful neighborhood hub, providing warm and rich service to locals and tourists alike. Instead it is a performative, shallow, expensive half-assed cafe.
I am throughly disappointed and will never come again.
Please visit the other many beautiful cafes in Yoyogi...
Read moreNadoya no Katte is a cafe hidden in the heart of Tokyo that provides a respite and incredible single origin coffee.
The cafe is close to Yoyogi Uehara Station. As you walk up, you'll notice the trees and the unique architecture amidst a sea of homes and apartments. After you walk up the stairs, you'll notice all of the various different outside areas for sitting. This gives the customer many places to enjoy a cup of coffee.
Once you get to the front order area, you'll see a line of Glitch Coffee single origin beans and their flavor profiles. The baristas will provide some small jars with the beans to smell, allowing for easier selection. Each bean has a different way to prepare and enjoy it (some beans are meant to only be drank hot, while others have multiple ways to be enjoyed).
I went with a Columbian blend at ¥1300. It had notes of melon, cantaloupe, watermelon, guava, strawberry, and kiwi. As to be expected, it was a fruity blend that balanced out the acidity of the roast. Each note could be experienced at different times from the moment it entered my mouth until it was swallowed.
There is also an inside area with a huge table and multiple smaller tables for seating, as well as a table containing some of the beans to purchase and take home.
The cafe was playing some old jazz during my visit, and it heightened my enjoyment and the atmosphere.
The staff were also extremely kind and friendly, as well as knowledgeable.
Also, important to note that cash and card are both accepted.
You will pay a premium price for a cup of coffee at this cafe, but the taste as well as the atmosphere make this place...
