If I get to visit Tokyo again, I will definitely stay at Porthouse Shibuya again. I had an amazing stay here!

For the price, the room was more than satisfying. It wasn't too small—I could leave my (small) suitcase open, and there was a window and good ventilation. The bed and blanket were so so fluffy that I fell asleep right away. There was also a small desk, which was convenient since I had some work to do on my laptop. The bathroom was small, but not too inconvenient, and it had ventilation so the floor dried quickly. Oh, and I also liked that they have a dual door lock, which made me feel reassured about the security.

The host was very friendly and helpful! I had a problem with the Wi-Fi in my room, but when I reached out, the host guided me through it right away. I also asked a bunch of questions, and he answered all of them patiently.

I also liked the location. It was only 2 stations away from Shinjuku Station, which was accessible by airport bus from Narita Airport. Also, Porthouse Shibuya was only 2 to 3 mins away from the station by walk. The neighborhood itself was very nice and had a calming vibe. There were so many good cafes and restaurants around the accommodation. The host even provided a food recommendation map, which was indeed helpful!

Thank you so much for your hospitality! This was my best stay...

Had to move hotels quite late after an issue at my previous hotel and port house saved the day! They were very quick to respond via line chat (it’s an app similar to whatsapp that’s used frequently in Japan but can be used by anyone, their line ID is on their webpage) and helped me get a reservation within 10 minutes after I submitted payment. There was no attendant when I arrived but there’s a door code to get into the main building and a separate door code to get into your room that they sent me. The room was fairly spacious for the price by Japanese business hotel standards, and I found the layout worked really well. Twin bed with a super fluffy duvet and comfortable mattress and pillow. Desk, small set of drawers, and private en suite toilet and shower. Towels/toiletries included with a for pay washer dryer downstairs. On the 3rd floor there’s a shared living room with a big TV, water dispenser, bigger fridge and kitchen setup making this very convenient for a longer stay. Everything was exactly as billed, clean, and a good value for price. Location is a

This is a great little hotel located around the corner from the train station. Front door and room entry is via keyless code which is convenient. The bathroom is small/tight but it is perfectly adequate - really good water pressure in the shower with typically modern Japanese fittings. Bed is firm and super comfortable. I took a 2 hour nap right when I got there which was glorious. There was a bit of construction noise outside but it was manageable and I'm a light sleeper. There's AC in the unit and a recessed ceiling fan which is controllable with off/high/low settings. The bedroom and bathroom were both basically immaculate, and the building is only one year old and quite modern with an elevator, luggage room, washing machines and a bright living/dining room on the top floor. I would have no hesitation staying here again, especially since it can be hard to find decent and affordable accommodation in Tokyo. I didn't pay the price listed on Google. I got the room through airbnb. If it's available and you're staying Tokyo I don't think you can...

I thought all the 5-star reviews must surely be a scam but no! This is far better value than what you'd pay at tired old hotels: clean, modern building with lovely beds and excellent privacy for a very fair price in a great location. Fantastic communal living space with kitchen and fridge for cooking your own meals, can knock back a beer or two in the courtyard outside too. Personally love the location, just out of the bustle of Shinjuku yet easy access and plenty of great food options around. Please note Google Maps wrongly thinks it's a 10 minute walk from Hatagaya station; it's really just 2 minutes, there's no detour. Use Hatagaya station to work out travel times. Only negative points was the shower being incredibly tiny even as a 165cm woman, and the ventilation: you do need to keep the air circulation fan on in the room and it's a bit loud but you get used to it. The corridors do have an odd smell. Will definitely come back again, hope to see more places operating like this!

This place is more of a high class hostel more than anything else. It was really nice that we didn't have to speak to anyone to check in and there were codes to get inside (no chance of losing keys, yay!!) It's also very convenient, only 1 minute walk from the station with many restaurants around the area ... However, the toilet was impossible to properly sit on because the bathroom was extremely small. I found a random blond hair on my towel while drying myself 🤮🤮 and the air conditioning has never been cleaned since they opened 🥴🥴🤢🤢🤢🤢 it was also disappointing to see crumbs on the ground when we came in the room for the first time. It makes me think that they never clean anything properly at all ...

So much better than a regular hotel. Stayed for two weeks during my last trip to Tokyo. The rooms are small as is common in Tokyo but spotless clean with very comfy mattresses and bedsheets. No time wasted during check-in or out as the whole place is automated. There are laundry facilities and a lounge where you can hang out with the other guests and the hosts, who are fluent in English and super cool. Very convenient location just two stations away from Shinjuku. The metro station is a two minute walk too. Around the area you can find anything you need, be it a late night snack, morning coffee and breakfast, even a 24-hour supermarket. I highly recommend the place. Will stay again.
