If I get to visit Tokyo again, I will definitely stay at Porthouse Shibuya again. I had an amazing stay here!
For the price, the room was more than satisfying. It wasn't too small—I could leave my (small) suitcase open, and there was a window and good ventilation. The bed and blanket were so so fluffy that I fell asleep right away. There was also a small desk, which was convenient since I had some work to do on my laptop. The bathroom was small, but not too inconvenient, and it had ventilation so the floor dried quickly. Oh, and I also liked that they have a dual door lock, which made me feel reassured about the security.
The host was very friendly and helpful! I had a problem with the Wi-Fi in my room, but when I reached out, the host guided me through it right away. I also asked a bunch of questions, and he answered all of them patiently.
I also liked the location. It was only 2 stations away from Shinjuku Station, which was accessible by airport bus from Narita Airport. Also, Porthouse Shibuya was only 2 to 3 mins away from the station by walk. The neighborhood itself was very nice and had a calming vibe. There were so many good cafes and restaurants around the accommodation. The host even provided a food recommendation map, which was indeed helpful!
Thank you so much for your hospitality! This was my best stay...
Read moreHad to move hotels quite late after an issue at my previous hotel and port house saved the day! They were very quick to respond via line chat (it’s an app similar to whatsapp that’s used frequently in Japan but can be used by anyone, their line ID is on their webpage) and helped me get a reservation within 10 minutes after I submitted payment. There was no attendant when I arrived but there’s a door code to get into the main building and a separate door code to get into your room that they sent me. The room was fairly spacious for the price by Japanese business hotel standards, and I found the layout worked really well. Twin bed with a super fluffy duvet and comfortable mattress and pillow. Desk, small set of drawers, and private en suite toilet and shower. Towels/toiletries included with a for pay washer dryer downstairs. On the 3rd floor there’s a shared living room with a big TV, water dispenser, bigger fridge and kitchen setup making this very convenient for a longer stay. Everything was exactly as billed, clean, and a good value for price. Location is a
Read moreThis is a great little hotel located around the corner from the train station. Front door and room entry is via keyless code which is convenient. The bathroom is small/tight but it is perfectly adequate - really good water pressure in the shower with typically modern Japanese fittings. Bed is firm and super comfortable. I took a 2 hour nap right when I got there which was glorious. There was a bit of construction noise outside but it was manageable and I'm a light sleeper. There's AC in the unit and a recessed ceiling fan which is controllable with off/high/low settings. The bedroom and bathroom were both basically immaculate, and the building is only one year old and quite modern with an elevator, luggage room, washing machines and a bright living/dining room on the top floor. I would have no hesitation staying here again, especially since it can be hard to find decent and affordable accommodation in Tokyo. I didn't pay the price listed on Google. I got the room through airbnb. If it's available and you're staying Tokyo I don't think you can...
