辣上帝（らしゃんてい） — Restaurant in Tokyo

We were really excited to try this place — the cute kitten statue outside and the promise of real spicy food (which is rare in Japan!) totally drew us in. The staff was friendly, and we were even told that the highest spice level is actually spicy, which got us even more excited.

Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to our expectations. While the spice level was definitely there, the dish itself lacked depth of flavor — it was just heat, without much taste behind it. It was a bit disappointing, especially after waiting 30 minutes for our dishes. The portion of soup also felt a small, and compared to the photos, we noticed some missing toppings — like the peanuts.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and it was unfortunately disappointing. The store was cute and the staff were great, but the food just didn’t do it (especially for the price). While the handmade noodles had great texture and the vegetables were fresh, the soup had virtually no flavor. I had to douse it in black vinegar just to make it taste like something. お店の雰囲気、サービス、価格設定、味やクオリティの総合的な観点から、余程の機会がない限り次回利用することは考えにくいかなと思います。

メディアで取り上げられたようで、休日には長蛇の列をなしています。さほど回転は悪くないので、自分の前に10人ほどいたとしたら40-60分程度の待ち時間かと思います。
