A cozy oyster and obanzai (home-style Japanese dish) spot nestled in a relaxed pocket just beyond the buzz of Sangenjaya, in the Shōin Jinja-mae area. Here, oysters from all over Japan are served year-round—that’s right, the old “R-month” rule doesn’t apply.
The menu consistently features several varieties of oysters (at least five kinds on any given day), alongside a rotating selection of sashimi (including some rare catches) and a generous offering of comforting obanzai.
To drink, you’ll find natural wines from across Japan, alongside a thoughtful selection of sake. The entire place is run solo by the owner, who holds down a boxy U-shaped counter with warm hospitality.
Locals from the neighborhood often fill the seats, and many solo drinkers come here, so if you come alone, try to mingle with the locals—you’ll quickly feel at home. When things get busy, you might see regulars lending a hand—something that shows just how much this place is loved by the community.
