This burger joint is very popular in Tokyo and has a huge following, especially with expats. I Perhaps it’s because the restaurant is located right next to a nice park, perhaps it’s because you can bring your dog or pet into the restaurant, I don’t exactly know, but it’s got a huge fan base.
I’ve used to come here from time to time when I’m in the area, and it just so happened that I was in the neighborhood so I decided to stop by. It’s been perhaps half a year since I last visited. The strange thing about this place is that sometimes it’s a hit or miss, the burgers are either great, or it can be a bit so-so.
There is usually a wait here. We got here around 12:30, and wait for about 45min before getting our seat. I got my Cheeseburger and my partner ordered Patty melt. Food came out quickly after we sat down.
I’m usually quite happy with the burger here, but this time around, the patty was a bit dry and tasted very flat. The buns were warm and toasted perfectly, the lettuce was crisp, everything was just perfect except the beef patty. It was a quite disappointing given the 45min wait time.
It is usually quite good here, but this time it was a bit of a miss. I think there are better and more consistent burger joints in Tokyo. But regardless, it’s in a great neighborhood, you will always have a...
Read moreI was there on a weekday before noon and decided to have take away as I had my 18months old baby with me. When I ordered, the girl told me it's a 20min wait. However, after 30min, seeing people who came in later than me got their orders...I went in and asked for my one simple hamburger order. The girl had poor English but she wasn't friendly(as you would kind of get used to in Japan) asked what my name is again....and told me to just wait outside. I waited for another 15min standing there in the sun with a baby getting impatient in the carrier and thought "this is ridiculous", I went inside and told her I wanted to cancel, but then, they took my order out.
45min for a take away burger with some thick soft wedges... the burger was average as the meat wasn't tender and strangely, 'mine was cold.
The low score was of course because of the long wait and the unfriendly attitude I got which I didn't comprehend at all but also on the food I got(I am a big burger fan)..I was "friendly"and I had a baby with me... Fortunately, that was the only unpleasant experience I had so far for the 5months...
Read moreBeen here twice. I remember the first time it being ok. I suppose it's popular more because it's right across the street from Yoyogi Park's parking lot and allows dogs. I think that's the biggest attraction. Went again on a Sunday. It was an hour and half waiting in line. During that time, I kept reading all these reviews. I agree that the meat is definitely lacking in size. It's so small compared to the rest of the burger. And it wasn't really anything special in flavor. We ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger and ARM Pattymelt. Honestly, neither was anything special. There's places with MUCH MUCH better burgers. I wish the fries were special so I could at least give it a plus for that.. but no. If you have a pet with you, this place gives you that nice ability with share a restaurant with them. If not, there's much better places nearby. Cafe Hoff is just a few minutes from there. That is one of the best...
