Yoyonam — Restaurant in Tokyo

It was my last night in Tokyo, I had heard great things about this place so I canceled all other plans to come here. I showed up an hour before closing, more than enough time for me to order, eat and leave. However when I asked for a table I was told they are done for the night??! This has happened multiple times to me in Tokyo. With how punctual everything is this makes zero sense. Is it not customary to take your customers time into consideration? Do you not appreciate them? I spent hours researching and selecting great places to eat. This being one of them. I dropped all my other plans. I could have gone out for drinks, I could have gone on a date, I could have gone to the gym, I had MULTIPLE other restaurants I could have gone to but I chose this one. I'm not gonna lie. This is one of the lower ranking for me in this neighborhood. It's pricey, the food was quite bland and not traditional Vietnamese taste and they did not tell me it was a one drink order until after I ordered already. So I had to get another drink. I would recommend the dessert however, it was delicious. The food really was not that great. It's quite expensive as well. We had weekly lunch specials menu with pork. It was around ¥1,300. I agree with other reviewers that it’s a tiny bit overpriced. Food is lightly flavored so I can see how some people don’t like it much, but it was fine by me. It feels very healthy though. Restaurant itself is very small and cozy and pretty packed in the lunch time. I saw some people waiting outside when I left around 13:00 on random weekday. Service is definitely slow, but that gives time to relax a bit. I personally liked it here. The entrance of the restaurant is in the small alley so it might be a bit hard to find...
