BLUE NOTE PLACE — Restaurant in Tokyo

Had a 4 course fixed price lunch after visiting the photographic museum nearby. Suprisingly good value at 3,800 yen per person for the overall atmosphere and quality of food. I was initially put off by the facade and lobby of the building expecting something overpriced and pretentious and I am pleasantly suprised to say that this was not the case whatsoever.

Interior design is impecable and I really appreciate the attention to detail at the tables. The resturant has Ambientec Turn table lamps so design lovers will get a kick out of that.

Food was quite good, we had some kind of pork for the main(name escapes me now) and it was some of the best pork i've ever had, delicious, buttery and tender also the soup was a seasonal squash based soup that was very lovely as well.

This place made me realize the best food experiences in Tokyo are almost always lunchtime during the week at a high end resturant. Get away from the crowds, relax, enjoy yourself with a wonderful meal in a beautiful building. I care little for crowds and this was one of the few places I went where I could really stretch out and not feel like I was brushing up hundreds of other people. Quite a delight in a place like Tokyo.

Unfortanutely for me I realized too late that this was THE Blue Note and frequently holds live music events. I missed the Andre 3000 show which will feature Deantoni Parks on drums which would have been wonderful. Alas, timing was not meant to be.

We were quite disappointed with tonights service. We placed a 5 item order which included: the potato bravas, birria ramen, steamed fresh fish, the wanton pork ravioli and a cocktail.

Cocktail arrived quickly and was delicious, no qualms there.

However, after waiting more than 1 hour, NONE of the food had arrived. I contacted the waiter and asked when our food would arrive and also ordered some water for me and my partner. The said "5 minutes" and proceeded to come out with the Wreath Salad which we did not order. However, we were starving after waiting more than 1 hour for our supposed food to arrive and therefore ate it.

We waitied another hour and still no more food came out, we believe he cancelled our order or something and we called for the check and left after the show ended.

Overall, extremely negative experience. It's fine for drinks and, that's about it. Music for the night was also good. My partner flew all the way from Australia and we are appalled by the customer service here after hoping to have a nice evening together and we were throughly disappointed.

I completely regret not telling the workers and asking for a refund/compensation of some kind, but after 2 hours and only an overpriced salad that we did not want or ordered, I had enough and just wanted to go home.

We paid ¥11,000 for 2 cocktails, 2 salads, the music fee & table charge (no problem) but what an outrageous price for 4 items total, it did not feel worth the price point AT...

Tye venue has a nice vibe and cool design to it, the DJ that evening played cool jazzy vibes and it’s a good venue for an evening out , the bar adjacent to the main dining hall has a nice coziness to it. However the service was a turn-off, it was not really busy but the waiters seem to complete forgot our order and the last dish came out almost 1 hour and 45 later , we were quite annoyed as we asked after 1 hour where our seafood was until it finally arrived and the temperature was lukewarm , portion supposed to be for sharing was also rather stinging. Overall on the setting and venue very nice but in the food and service side a bit lame and disappointing, especially as we came all the way over from Hong Kong to check it out since we been regulars on its sister venue the Blue Note Jazz Club. Next time maybe just drinks . There is room for improvement .
