Genkai — Restaurant in Tokyo

We were there on Friday night, but we were told that they are fully booked. So, we were told to walk-in at 5pm on Saturday, which is today. So we did. To our surprise, we can only order set menu, which the cheapest one would cost ¥8,640/pax. No ala-carte at all. Our intention of visiting is to try their chicken soup as it was recommended by Google. To our disappointment, the food was just ordinary. To cut short, the fried fish appetiser taste bitter, the cold appetiser was really normal. The chicken broth in the pot was nice, but I'm quite sure packet 鸡白汤 were mixed into the broth for flavor enhancement. The chicken pieces in the broth were obviously the remains from the long brewing broth which is really rough to swallow. The chicken meatballs were not smooth either as it made from chicken breast meat. There's no rice were served to go along with the chicken soup pot. But after we finished broth, with some pathetic chicken pieces untouched, they serve us a bowl of rice drenched with chicken soup. And the rice wasn't pure Japanese rice. They mixed with other long rice grain! Absolute disappointment. Paying ¥8,640/pax for this meal? This is cut throat expensive. The most unworthy meal that I've ever paid in my life. The food is really good. Went for dinner. 17000 Yen /person. Is worth for the food and atmosphere, but not the service. The service is just very normal, the lady staff not really friendly. Our appointment at 7pm but we was late, reached around 7:30pm... The dishes will keep on coming out no matter you finished your dish or not.... When come to their closing times, they will keep on reminding you they are closed and chase you out 😅😅😅
