Small and smoky Okinawan restaurant that serves reliably good food. This restaurant is a local institution.
From the outside you might think this was a tiny izakaya. It has that vibe inside as well. Regulars sit and smoke at the bar that overlooks the kitchen. A few tables and a small tatami area that seats 8 are squeezed in as well. Families with children often occupy the tatami area in the early evening. There is a party room in the back. If the smokiness bothers you it is possible to ask to sit in the party room. Somehow the friendly staff manage to navigate the narrow aisle with speed.
An extensive selection of appetizers, meat dishes, chanpuru dishes, and noodles are available, along with assorted other items. My favorites are the tofuyo, shima-rakkyo, and goya chanpuru. The menu also features a number of different awamori varieties.
