henteco — Restaurant in Tokyo

I went here twice during my trip to Japan last year. It's one ofy favourite cafes I've visited! Definitely come before opening on a weekday, which is what I did the first time and there was no wait. When I went the second time on a weekend, there was a wait. The pancakes and sweets were so delicious and the decorations were very well thought out! 🤓 Drinks were also delicious. They have seasonal menus which change frequently so it was fun getting to try some frog themed pancakes.

They also have a section which sells pins, postcards, tea bags, etc. I ended up a postcard, pin, and a lychee tea bag pack which I got to try when I went back home.

Do be aware place is bit of a trek from nearest Meguro Station. Went on weekend right at 11 AM opening. Could only order drinks and dessert as food items weren’t officially available until Noon. Staff was nice and informed me around 11:30 that I could add food items if I still wanted. Food was good and the atmosphere quite and cozy. Worth a visit. Henteco was a small and cute cafe with great food. The pancakes were delicious and worth the wait. Their menu does change seasonally, so make sure to go if there is any specific you are looking to try. If you get there before opening, you should be able to get a table right away.
