Hinadoriyama — Restaurant in Tokyo

I celebrated my 40th birthday at Hinadoriyama with family and friends, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet residential area, making it a hidden gem worth discovering. Although the building is old, it is well-preserved, adding to its authentic and charming atmosphere.

I first found Hinadoriyama through Instagram and knew I had to try it with my family. We chose a course meal and were pleasantly surprised to be seated in a private room. The highlight of the experience was the unique food delivery system: a small boat floating on a water conveyor brings your dishes directly to your room’s window. It felt like a fun twist on conveyor belt sushi but much more interactive and special.

The tofu-like soup stood out for its delicate flavor and unique texture — it’s a must-try! The fresh seafood and other beautifully presented dishes were equally delicious. Every bite reflected the care and skill put into the preparation.

This local BBQ place is so good and fun. Not many Tourists know about this restaurant it is mainly for locals. Also I needed help from my Japanese friend to book. I tried online booking but had no success. It is set in a local Japanese residential area. You will need to get there by taxi from the train station. We ordered 4 sets, which is just right propulsion but if you are a big eater then order the extras. Inbetween the middle of the building there are water canals which the ingredients and drinks come by boat. The ingredients is very fresh, very nice and sweet, it all has a smoky flavours after the BBQ. The noodles are just cook right and a bit chewy. The drinks or normal nothing special. The stuff was very helpful but they did not know many English so we had to use Google Translate for them to read which was okay. After the meal you walk to the reception to pay and they car call a taxi to take us back to train station. Overall this is a must try restaurant it's a very good experience and...

A memorable dining experience with fair customer service.

The restaurant is located at a… I would say… quite a secluded area in Hachijioji.

Perks are… you get a free private room with a cute and unique experience of having your food sent to you by water¿

I would advise emailing the restaurant for a pick-up or taking a cab to the restaurant from the station.

Unfortunately, we missed our scheduled pick-up and had to hike up to the restaurant for almost 45 mins.

The food was delicious and super fresh but sadly a course meal per person is compulsory, at a pretty pricey price point (No sharing allowed)

The course set was huge and quite reasonable for the price.

The service was commendable and you can ask for a ride back to the station for free :)

However, I wouldn’t go through the hassle to come back but definitely worth a...
