This review is for the English speaking people who visit Japan. I would recommend you visit the brewery as it's very nice. That should be enough to get you there but here is why. Little did I know the middle of the summer is not "Brewery" time. They don't run tours, they don't do much of anything other than think about this falls work of brewing sake. When we arrived we asked for a tour like any American who assumes a tour is offered. A nice lady said she would give us a tour @ 2 PM. It was around 11 AM.
So we went into the restaurant and ate. It was a wonderful meal in what felt like a very old building. Very authentic, Very Japanese with of course Sake (nihonshu).
As a side note this is one of the oldest running breweries in Japan. They also make beer there and it's fantastic as well.
After the lunch we met up at the sales office in the middle and the nice lady gave us a tour. Come to find out on the tour that this was not normal. She was the secretary of the CEO and was doing this to be kind to us and be hospitable. I was honored. She knew English better than I know Japanese and gave us a wonderful tour. It will be one of my first stops next time I am back in Japan. Plus the Sake is awesome! If you are near by at one of the military bases make this a nice day trip. I hope to go back in the fall next time so that I can seem...

You only get a glimpse of the actual production facilities, but that is true anywhere as the brewing areas need to be kept clean. The restaurant is good too, reservations are a good idea, and don't be put off by it being nominally Italian, as it is done with Japanese flavor and gives you an opportunity to taste the brewery's beer or nihonshu with western-style food. The only minus is the amount you can taste after the tour -- I get it, most people taste without buying, but you can't even taste other products in the shop for a small charge. It's a bit disappointing for someone who is seriously looking for a bottle that suits...
Read moreWe had an excellent tour with Kaiko-san, who was very knowledgeable, kind and taught us everything there is to know about sake brewing. You can really see the history on display in the warehouses, and the rest of the brewery grounds are absolutely beautiful - We would have loved to have stayed all day just enjoying the scenery and the sake. Speaking of sake, we were able to try six different kinds of sake, including a plum liqueur made with sake that was absolutely amazing. All the sakes were unique and delicious, and Keiko-san explained the differences between them very well. Thank you for a wonderful time! We would highly recommend this for anyone...
