I was staying in Ota with 2 friends and we were interested in trying Cafe Kirin based on positive reviews online and its proximity to our hotel. We were happy to see that signs outside were in English, however, when we came in an employee told us via translation app that we needed a reservation. There was no option to make a reservation. The food was served with a very tasty side salad and the sandwich was so delicious. The coffee was wonderful too and so warming on a very cold morning. However, from a discriminate perspective, the coffee quality is only that of better drip coffee. There are also no espresso alternatives.
