My husband and I hadn’t been to a kaitenzushi (conveyor-belt sushi) restaurant in a while, so we decided to visit くら寿司 for lunch on a Saturday. We made a reservation through the app for 1:10 PM.
We arrived at 1:00 PM and only waited about 10 minutes before being shown to our table.
My husband ordered a beer and some of his favorite gunkan sushi. I ordered a variety of nigiri, and I was happy to see that some offered a “half rice” option, I chose that when possible. Everything was fresh and tasty.
Normally, my favorite sushi is the big kaisendon maki kasane (seafood layered rolls), but they didn’t have them here, so I tried gunkan instead. My husband always orders gunkan, and I think I’ve finally been influenced by him!
The negi maguro gunkan was absolutely delicious! I usually like my sushi with half the rice, and this one had plenty of negi maguro piled on top. The flavor was perfectly balanced, the texture was smooth and fresh, and I completely fell in love with it.
We also spotted the Aburi Salmon MAX Cheese on the menu, it looked both delicious and indulgent, so we couldn’t resist trying it. At first, I thought cheese sauce with salmon sushi sounded strange, but it completely changed my mind. It was fun to pour the cheese sauce ourselves, it made the experience more interactive and perfect for taking photos. The rich, creamy cheese melted beautifully with the aburi salmon and rice, creating a wonderful combination of flavors.
We even had some cheese sauce left, so my husband ordered onion rings, which turned out to be genius! The onion rings were good on their own, but pairing them with the cheese sauce made them even better.
In total, we had 17 plates, which meant we got to play the prize game three times, but sadly, we didn’t win anything. Normally I don’t mind, but the current prize theme is something my sister likes, so I was a little disappointed. At least I still managed to get her an A4 file.
Overall, we had a great lunch here. The food was fresh and fun, and we hope くら寿司 will continue to offer unique and delicious creations. Hopefully one day, they’ll bring back something like the kaisendon...

This branch is in an odd location on the 1F you will need to use the tablet on entry, it’s pretty straight forward and you need to let it know how many of you are eating and wait for the receipt. You MUST keep this!
One of the female attendants was really kind as I wasn’t sure what to do and she led me to a seat. Tablet is really self explanatory, either take sushi from the conveyor belt (Lift the plate) or order from the tablet, I came when sushi was ¥125 and came quickly.
Every 5 dishes through the slot enables you to play the game to win a gachapon.
On checkout you need to tap checkout and wait for an attendant to confirm your order. As I couldn’t speak much Japanese the male attendant was a bit impatient with me and sighed as I looked back at him in confusion!
You then go to the self checkout scan your receipt and pay by cash or card and simple as that!
The venue is clean and had plenty of space when I came at...
Read moreGood place, there wasn't any queue so they took us immediately to our table (you have to pre order the place from a tablet at the entrance, we didn't know that but the clerk was very nice and helped us). You get matcha, sauces and wasabi for free. You also get water I think but it's at the beginning of the tables so I'm not sure. All dishes tasted amazing. My only "bad" point is there's not enough variety for desserts and drinks. Other than that it's an amazing place, super clean and private. You can also try gacha every 5 plate you order (which I didn't win after trying 3...
