La Piccola Tavola — Restaurant in Tokyo

As a vegetarian who doesn’t eat cheese, Italian is always hard for me. Here, I was able to slightly modify a pasta dish, and it came fully flavoured and fantastic - no sense of a half-hearted effort at all! Delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful salad as well, with a wide variety of fresh vegetables and a subtle dressing that didn’t overpower the natural flavour. I’m assured that everyone’s (non-vegetarian) pizzas were delicious. So for flavour and ability to adjust for weirdos like me, full marks! There vego pizzas and the like that contained cheese, for anyone who can handle that. 4/5 for atmosphere only because it was noisy. I know it’s the expected thing in this type of restaurant, but I’ve never understood it or liked it, and it seems particular odd in Japan. This was a terrible lunch order. Below is how the pizza was just delivered. 5 minutes away and both pizza and lasagna were delivered almost cold, in a very poor state and with such a poor flavour. Maybe it’s Japanised Italian? This would never float in southern Europe.

Pizza was half half but it honestly tasted the same minus the prosciutto. Crust was soggy and the was pizza was overly salty.

Lasagna was probably from yesterday. Hard pastry with no zest or the original flavour of a good plate of lasagna.

Truly disappointing. Not to mention that we had to spend ¥4,400 for this kind of pizza and a dish of lasagna. Our plans of visiting in person for dinner are...

The worst restaurant experience. Had made a reservation in advance, and still had to wait outside, only to be seated at the counter (there were two of us), even though all the tables were EMPTY. Later on, as the restaurant got fuller, other people got seated at the tables, even if they came alone (tables were for 2 and 4 people). Then, when we ordered pizzas got one first, and had to wait almost an hour for the second one to arrive. The waiters and staff almost completely ignored us, would not even refill our glasses with water, despite us sitting directly next to the waiters’ station... Ruined the evening. 0/10 would...
