It is a grandfather’s clocks museum!
We took an excursion to Nishi Ogikubo and found this very interesting coffee joint. It was full when we arrived in 2ish in a weekday. With great disappointment, we checked out the bookstore nextdoor. After around 10 minutes, 2 customers left and we got a table. Many customers kept coming in and were turned away after we sat down, lucky us.
The vibe is uniquely classic. Pictures tell more than words. Though there were so many clocks packed together, I noticed that only one was ticking. The owner pays attention to details as one can imagine how it would be like if 50 clocks are ticking at the same time. It is a great place to have a cozy chat, read a book, or simply meditate.
The owners and staffs (probably family members) are friendly and the coffee is good. It is probably a “could not miss” spot in...

Broad menu on the expensive side, but I'm sure people come to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Doesn't seem to have Wi-Fi or charging.
I enjoyed the ice coffee but can only call it an average four...
Read moreBeautiful, evocative spot for a power of reading. Music varies from classical piano to jazz guitar. Extremely aesthetic decor with clocks and lamps adorning every nook of the place which should be visually cumbersome, but the opposite effect is somehow cultivated. Quietly labouring master, quietier than the proverbial country mouse who moved to the big smoke and was never to be corrupted by the garrulous town mouse. The Vienna coffee is nice after a stirring. Warning: no espresso based coffee and no...
