Just found a favorite gyoza place in the neighborhood!
By far they have the best tasting gyoza I’ve ever tried. Their set meal portions are enough, actually it’s great.
Ordered the classic yakigyoza and super love it! The crispiness I could hear while it’s juicy inside. Perfect!
The shop is small so not really the best for big groups. Seats were a little bit small too so you’ll have a tendency to maybe hit the person next to you but when we came, thankfully it wasn’t crowded so it was okay.
They have few side dishes but it’s a gyoza specialty shop so it’s within my expectations.
Service is good by the way. And you have to order on your phone by scanning qr code. Prices...

Visited on a Sunday night around 9:30 PM. Otake Gyoza is about a 2-3 minute walk from Exit 3 of Nakano-Sakaue Station, toward Shin-Nakano. Though it’s a popular spot, the place was quiet at that hour and I was seated at a table right away.
I ordered the Gyoza Set Meal (10 pieces). The gyoza had a beautiful crispy wing and chewy skin, with juicy meat filling full of flavor. There’s no garlic inside by default, but you can add fresh raw garlic yourself, along with soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, and pepper. It’s fun to customize the flavor, and extra garlic is available too.
The set includes miso soup and pickled daikon. The miso soup had a strong umami-rich broth, and the takuan (pickles) were just the right balance of salty and sweet—perfect with rice. Altogether, a very satisfying meal.
The restaurant has a calm and stylish atmosphere, making it great for a relaxing late dinner. Next time, I’d love to try their Shiso Gyoza or Spicy Dandan Water...
Read moreBest gyoza I’ve ever had! And right next to where I live too. I couldn’t be happier!
They have a couple of different types. The original and especially the ”tan-tan” one was phenomenal!
Aldo, their lemon sour was super good. Totally different from the usual stuff they have in bars and izakayas.
They don’t use garlic (they have it seperately though) so this works as a lunch place too.
This might end up being my weekly Friday...
