It is a PREMIER hotel
We went to Japan on holiday for 2 weeks and stayed in Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nishi-shinjuku PREMIER many nights when we stayed in Tokyo.
Location
As this hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Hilton hotel, we took the airport limousine bus directly from and to the Haneda airport without carrying our luggage. It makes our life so much easier.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from central Shinjuku. It might sound a bit far. It isn't. Walking from Shinjuku to the hotel is along a main road with shops and is very safe. It even passed a police station. It also means that the location is quieter at night.
There are also Oedo metro line (E28) and Marunouchi metro line (M07) within 5-7 minutes walk. As one can go to Tokyo station directly, we find out we hardly need to walk to Shinjuku to take the Yamanote JR line at all.
Facility
The hotel provides self laundry service at a reasonable price. However the machines are always busy. We preferred to take a 10 minutes walk to nearby 24 hours coin laundry. We had one wash at 2am and it was very safe.
The hotel has a 24-hour 7-Eleven in the basement, a Family Mart and a French bakery called Daisy within 1 minute walk and some 24 hour restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
We had 4 people : 2 adults and 2 teenages. The hotel service fit a third bed in our hotel room. It is comfortable. If I had to make one complaint, I would say the room corridor is slightly narrower. The best part of the room is the bathroom and Japanese luxury toilet. They are far too comfortable. After using their toilet for 2 weeks, it makes me wonder why our country still uses hand and paper after having a toilet.
Their customer services were immaculate. They speak multiple languages and deal with customers with care. I remembered we left our luggage in the hotel after check-out to other city. When we checked in again, they had already put our luggage in our room. That's good smart service.
Their breakfast is in western and Japanese styles. They tasted good and were in good value for money.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied with their service and would love to stay in this hotel again when we are back to Tokyo...
Read moreHad to write this review because of the fantastic stay recently at the Daiwa Roynet in Shinjuku. I stayed with my daughter and my aunt for about 4-5 days. Excellent check in process, very smooth and extremely courteous front desk staff. Absolutely great location, walking distance to great shopping and sights( although we took taxis because of the extreme hot weather). Very very lovely neighborhood. The hotel was spotless, including the rooms. I had booked a double bed room but realized two twin beds would be more comfortable for my aunt and I so made the request. Next morning we were given a room with two beds. Breakfast was from 7:00 am on main floor in restaurant hearth, just an amazing breakfast. Numerous western and Japanese choices. Beautiful ambience. We were greeted by all the staff every single day. Bathroom was small but spotless and had everything you needed. Main floor lobby had a table with some amenities that you are encouraged to choose and pick from. These were free. We were specially impressed with the concierge, Mr Terada, who helped us with our tickets for the Shinkansen that we were taking to Kyoto. He also confirmed our reservation for our last night back from Kyoto, as our flight was next day. Mr Terada several times after helping us out would personally walk us to the elevators and open the elevator doors for us. This respectfulness and courtesy floored us. Mr Terada is an asset to this hotel and I wish this politeness and management would be more common in other hotels too. Leaving the hotel on our way back to Toronto, we took the limousine luxury airport bus from nearby Hilton hotel and were taken to Narita very comfortably. All in all I plan to come back to Tokyo in the future and I will be staying at the Daiwa Roynet hotel in Nishishinjuku again. What a...
Read moreThe worst experience we had so far in Japan regarding a hotel, the most expensive so far, which is a shame because it’s a bad ending to a very good trip.. Rooms aside, which are okay, the service is subpar, especially the cheap tricks they use to get good reviews. (Free bottle of water everyday if you fill a questionnaire first day - like you can reasonably decide the first day if the hotel is to your liking).
The breakfast, oh my God the breakfast. A 200+ euro per night hotel has a wait in line like at McDonald’s breakfast. Hilarious! I’ve stayed in 100+ hotels, some 4 times cheaper than this, and never have I ever waited in a line for breakfast. And the food was subpar and choice limited as well, things didn’t get replenished in time because it’s a miniature restaurant for a big hotel - and they even let people from the outside eat! Which means there’s a older woman on her notebook, her food long finished, sitting there for hours why we 200+ euro per night peasants wait.
I tried asking for a refund for the coupons still left because we didn’t want to return there for another day, but of course they denied it, they even have a “no refund in any case” on the coupon, which basically means if the cook threw up in the eggs in front of you - it doesn’t even matter.
And as a sugar on top. The waitress there speaks ZERO English and thought we (my GF and I) were together with a couple behind us who we never even meet just because we’re all white, nice! Because of that we waited even longer because she wanted to put us on a table for four. She just needed to ask beforehand how many people there are, considering the cheapest restaurants in Tokyo did that. Discrimination to top it all.
Terrible experience and my stay is still not finished, can’t wait to leave...
