I am updating my review to reflect my recent experiences with the restaurant.
I used to be a regular because it was my favorite pizza spot (I still believe it has the best pizza in Tokyo), but the staff have entirely changed and they are just absolutely cold and not fun to deal with. I understand that this may be absolute coincidence, but the past three times I have gone with another foreign friend of mine, we've been turned away at the door up to 3 hours (!) before closing. Meanwhile, there are plenty of empty seats inside. I understand that obviously they have to account for reservations, but I never have issues at any other pizza spots, even busier ones. Every time I would ask how long we will have to wait, they would respond by saying they are full for the rest of the night (not even Friday or weekends in some cases). For whatever reason, when I go with my Japanese girlfriend, we can be accommodated. Staff are still not friendly even when serving.
Past this point, I will leave my original review as is, because it is still true:
Still remains the best pizza restaurant I have visited in the greater Tokyo area. Everything down to the pour-over oil is genius, marinated in a variety of spices which perfectly complement the pizza. I recommend the...
Read moreWas told by my Italian friend that this is the place he comes for Pizza. Was in the neighborhood tonight and stopped in to see how good the pizza was. Arrived just after they opened at 5pm and we had the place to ourselves. Menu is on placemats on the tables and they have many many different kinds of pizza to choose from. Ordered the standard Margherita and a Diablo. 10 mins later we were served piping hot pizza. Size is on the small size which is normal here in Japan. Had a good amount of cheese, sauce, and oil on it, resulting in a heavy slice so first bite needed a second hand. Taste was very good- nice char and crust was yummy. Was very happy with the pizza so ordered a pie to bring home to share with others. Looking forward to returning and trying the other pizzas they have to offer. Thank you for a...
Read moreFantastic local Italian restaurant. The place is very simple and it reminds me vaguely of local pizzerias you'd find in Italy.
The menu is correctly prepared and the pizza is made Napolitan style. The dough is not too gummy like it often happens in Japanese pizzerias. It is instead closer to an Italian dough. The pizza was very good, with a crunchy crust and a correct amount of mozzarella.
Service is quick and friendly....
