Sitting in Starbucks in a train station in Tokyo. The dystopia of life hits like an epithine. I hold my small area of personal space, with my venti latte and my phone's Netflix app. But I break my concentration to glance around to see at each table another person doing the same. They are devoid of emotion except for a small dazed fixation which plays upon their face. We are all identical. We are controlled. Upon the walls is propoganda. 一見するとテイクアウト専用のスタバックスのように見えますが、席数は少ないながらもイートインのスペースがあります。そのような店の外観であることもあってか、平日休日問わずイートインで利用する人は少なめ。JR蒲田駅の改札口が目の前にあり、人の往来が多くあまり静かな環境では無いこと、スターバックスと並列で開業している他の店が全てテイクアウト専用であり、自動的にスターバックスもテイクアウト専用であると思い込んでしまうことが、イートインでの利用者が少ない理由かもしれません。 とは言え、接客態度は他のスターバックスと特に変わりなく、朝や夕方などの特に人の往来が多い時間帯は非常にスムーズに対応しているように見受けられます。上述の店の構造もあり、食べ物を購入する人は少なく、そのため陳列されている食べ物の種類は少なめ。ほぼテイクアウト専用のスターバックスと思って利用した方がいいでしょう。
