Nestled near Inokashira Park, Sunday Vegan is an absolute gem of a café. It’s small, cozy, and full of charm—the kind of place that feels like a secret you want to share but also keep to yourself.
I dropped by hoping to try their sakura-glazed donuts, but they were already sold out (get there early!). Luckily, they still had some sakura-flavored oat milk donuts on hand—light, fluffy, and packed with seasonal goodness. I paired mine with a perfectly brewed coffee, and honestly, it was one of the best cups I’ve had in a while.
The interior is minimalist but warm, with thoughtful touches that make it feel like a peaceful little escape from the crowds. It’s a wonderful spot to relax after a stroll through the park or a visit to the Ghibli Museum.
Just a heads-up: they close at 5 p.m., so don’t leave it too late! Whether you’re vegan or just into good vibes and great coffee, Sunday Vegan is well...
Read moreThe donuts were good but service wasn’t great. We ordered our ready-made donuts and sat waiting for over 15 minutes while customer after customer came and went with their orders immediately after paying. We went and asked by this point and they just asked us to wait. The staff continued taking and making the orders of people who ordered after we did, so we thought that maybe the donuts we ordered were sold out and had to be made, but no. They ended up taking our donuts right from behind the counter after a few more customers ordered, just left them there without bagging them, and went back to taking and preparing more orders. When they finally gave us our donuts, it was the wrong order. Maybe it’s because I’m a foreigner and they prioritized the orders of Japanese people? Not sure. As someone who’s worked in cafes, it just wasn’t great etiquette...
Read moreReasonably priced and delicious doughnuts in multiple flavors. The outside is cruncy, and the inside is soft and fluffy. They have a bit of a crumbly texture unlike other doughnuts, which made them a little bit special. The woman working the counter was very friendly. I had the coconut milk donut (small size) and the coffee donut (large size). The coconut milk was delicious and sweet. The coffee flavor was not very sweet, so great for people who want something with a slightly more mature taste. The coffee from the La Marzocco machine was delicious as well. We dined in. There are four seats inside, and about two seats outside for dine-in, so I would recommend getting takeout...
