I cannot recommend this accommodation due to a severely mishandled reservation and unacceptable living conditions. We booked room 103, but were forced to occupy a significantly inferior room for the first two nights of our stay due to the previous guests’ refusal to vacate.
This displacement was unacceptable. The host’s claim that the temporary room was an ‘upgrade’ is misleading. We paid for two beds but received only one, compelling me to sleep on an extremely uncomfortable futon on the floor. The host’s description of ‘newer facilities and a table’ as an upgrade does not justify the lack of basic amenities and the significant downgrade in sleeping arrangements.
Additionally, the thin walls typical of Japanese accommodations were particularly problematic in the temporary room, allowing for significant noise disruption from neighboring guests.
While we were aware of potential train noise, it proved more disruptive than anticipated, reaching levels of 42.6 dB, peaking at 51 dB, with frequent train passes.
The primary issues were the unacceptable room displacement and the misleading ‘upgrade.’ I advise potential guests to carefully consider these factors...

Doesn’t even have a real “Japanese toilet” you know, with the bidet which even all train stations have…. This place is very close to the train station, in between two actually. Rooms are pretty big. Seems quite clean. Only problem was I had a sleeping 4 year old in the stroller at time of check in and I had to carry her up the narrow staircase by myself without waking her up. I managed it on my own but the stairs were steep and I had to round a corner… so if you have troubles with stairs or with lots of heavy luggage - just know there is no elevator. The train goes by every few minutes and shakes the whole building so if you’re sensitive to noise you might be angry. You get used...
Read moreThis place offered an affordable place to stay for 3 days over Golden Week while surrounding hotels in Tokyo were three times the price. Although no staff onsite, they were able to accommodate when we needed new towels and the room was well kept and everything worked. The location is especially good. Walking distance from Kichijoji station. The area itself was a lovely place if you want somewhere just outside of the hustle and bustle. The only thing to mention is that you can hear trains regularly, but it is like background noise....
