Despite this being a non-smoking hotel, our room and hallway unmistakably smelled of heavy cigarette smoke. I’m an experienced traveler and don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel that smelled this badly before. It was so bad that I was getting a headache from the smell.
When we raised the concern to the staff, they suggested maximizing the air purifier setting and deodorizer spray, which helped a little, or maybe we just got used to the smell over time. They said the hotel was busy and didn’t want to let us switch rooms. (Honestly, we didn’t see that many other guests there, which makes me skeptical that it was really that booked)
Another con is that they claim to be eco-conscious to offer a downgraded cleaning service, but the room didn’t even come with a recycling bin.
Other than this, the staff was fine and nice enough.
The free breakfast was sad and we did not return after the first time.
The room itself was fine for a 3 star hotel, but could use a deep cleaning.
Location was fantastic and close...
Read moreI stayed at Tokyu Excel Kichijoji hotel for 3 nights. The hotel has been renovated recently so everything seems pretty new and clean, which was great. I did not order breakfast since there are great places nearby so I cannot comment on the breakfast, other than that the restaurant itself seems nice. The room was really small, even for a business hotel in Tokyo and you can barely fit a big suitcase next to the bed. I think about 20 cm more are required on each side. The service was excellent and the hotel staff were really helpful with everything I asked. Service was a definite 5 stars. Location is also great right in the middle of the center, the station, park and shops. The price however was definitely too expensive for a regular business hotel (I payed 22000 per night). For a cheaper price it’s a great choice and I would be glad to stay but for that price I would expect bigger space and better conditions overall. Especially since this is Kichijoji and not...
Read moreThis review is for my one night stay in a premium double room. Front desk staff were very professional, efficient and helpful. The room was gorgeous, clean and very spacious! Light locations and controls were well planned. First time I had footlights so that i don’t trip while getting up late at night. Bedding was comfortable. Nightgowns and slippers were provided. Spacious closet with complete amenities including those for shoe cleaning. Separate rooms for the toilet with bidet and the bathroom. Spa like experience with the tub and shower. Bathroom amenities were above and beyond! The hotel was within walking distance to the Kichijoji station. Lots of dining options and shopping areas outside the hotel and also inside. Hotel offered a premium lounge with free drinks and snacks but I wasn’t able to use it. Only downside is I had to pay extra if I wanted a late checkout so I just checked out at...
