Tamagawa Diner — Restaurant in Tokyo

Rude lady bartender. 🤮 Nice location & decent food. I used to go here often and my last visit on a nice sunday afternoon was the worst ever. I came with a dog and a friend and we waited for 1hour to be seated & this was totally fine with me since they explained to me this will happen as the terrace seats were occupied. After an hour, we were seated by the counter on the outdoor side which was also fine because we are just so hungry (almost 3:00pm without breakfast) and we are still in a very good mood. Then when the terrace seats were vacated 5 mins after we were seated by the counter, we nicely asked to be moved so I can easily care for my dog since the seats on the terrace are lower than the counter and the lady bar tender said Ok. After 20 more mins, still we are not moved despite one staff cleaning an indoor table without anyone waiting for it. So we asked again and the lady rudely told us repeatedly & strongly to wait another 10-20 mins, unapologetic of obviously ignoring our request. She insisted again that cleaning the terrace table will take another 20mins. This is where I got so mad and asked why can they quickly clean an indoor table (without anyone waiting for it) while we had been patiently waiting and asked properly to be moved yet they are just not doing anything. I asked should I clean the table because I can do that in a minute. I am not a very demanding customer and I think our request was reasonable (no one was waiting in line that time, we are carefully observing everyone) but the way we are told was so rude and made us felt we are the one who owe...

Went for lunch last week - the service is absolutely horrible. Female staff had to be reminded multiple times for simple things like drink order. Tattooed cook was taking pictures of the food instead of getting our order. They didn’t even bring all the food we ordered (totally forgot the ribs). The fish is pretty good, chips just average. The salad and soup are absolutely horrible. The burger is horrible. I shared my feedback to the owner, Masa, who I know personally and he hasn’t even replied. I hate to write such a bad review for a local shop, but frankly the experience was horrible.

Fish N Chips was amazing! That’s all I have to say! The food for cost and taste was the best I have had in Japan. I highly recommend this place for the fish n chips. I didn’t eat anything else, so I don’t know about the other foods lol. The crispy breading of the fish, with roasted garlic on the plate, what joy! The chips or fries where sooooooo good with rosemary and some other herbs roasted with them. There homemade tarter sauce was the final finish with lemon and malt vinegar:) I was full as a tick afterwards, no really. Go and see...
