What an excellent unagi shop in Jiyugaoka. The taste you get for the price you paid is excellent value. They only sell Unagi at the shop and the menu is very limited. I had the Unajyu which they sell for 2900 yen. The size is very generous compared to what I received. The sauce is also pretty good (a blend of saltiness and sweetness but not too sweet). Every dish comes with a soup and pickled cabbage. I also had the kimo skewer for 300 yen and it tasted very good. This shop opens at 11.30 and I'd highly recommend you come on time. I was 6 mins late and already had to start queueing. There is no English in the shop so you must be able to read and speak a bit of Japanese.

A countertop spot for fresh unadon, skewers, and other unagi dishes. I tried umaki (tamago wrapped eel) for the first time and it was all delicious. It was mostly locals, but one of the waiters spoke perfect English and helped me out the whole time. I came on the earlier side (4:45pm) and was able to get a seat, but it definitely started filling up for the dinner rush, though it moved fairly fast with quick service and most customers not lingering (except me as a tourist). Highly recommend for quality unagi and an authentic experience.

A very decent unagi place in Jiyugaoka. We came here on weekdays 11.45am and there was a line already. Did not wait long until we were seated. Limited menu to choose from but all are delicious!! We ordered 3 ways skewers - shio, tare and liver. I like the normal Tare one the most. We also ordered Don and it was awesome 👏🏻 The service was fast although the lady got confused and charged us 200 yen more than we actually had, overall good experience 😅

3月26日(火) こちらもリピートしていましたが、雨もありお客さんが少く、ようやく会社帰りの時間帯でもレバー焼が残っていたので久々のアップデート。 最近始めたらしいのですが、うざくのメニューが小さくなった隣に裏返しのメニュー目にして聞くと希少部位なので酒蒸しだけだったけど、1人一本限定で売り切れ御免で始めたとの事。レバー焼出してるのは知る限り新宿横丁のカブトだけ、でも、一通り注文の客限定で開店後1時間で無くなるというサラリーマンには幻のメニュー。「とにかく、キモと違って取れないんだよ肝臓だけというのは！」という説明でした。 写真はメニューだけ追加しますが、本日のオーダーは、まずは、レバー焼(タレです)、鰻タレ、キモタレ、鰻塩、からくり塩の串焼にレバー酒蒸。食べ終わり、続いて、3点盛り(にこごり、八幡巻、う巻き)、うなトロまき、うざく。締めはいつもの通り肝吸い。 飲み物が、ウーロン茶なのでお会計は3,750円。生憎の天気で、8時少し前というピーク時間帯でも空いてましたが長っ尻はこういう店では無粋、サクッと30分位で帰宅の途につきました！ 8月３日(木) 土用の丑の日から少し遅れ再訪。やっぱりうなぎ食べておかないと。 まず、入店前に、ほさかやさんもランチに力を入れてと報告しましたが、その丼、お弁当は夜も共通のようで看板写真に撮りました。 で、オーダーは、短冊タレ、塩、からくりタレ、キモ、追加にからくり塩の５本。うざくとウナトロに肝吸いで締め。二軒目行くのでこのくらいでノンアルコールスーパードライ小瓶１本、安定ノンアルコール旨さです。あ、この日はレバー酒蒸しなかったです。やっぱりなぁ〜、あればラッキーメニューですがここは1番そのチャンスがあるんですよ! 久しぶりに来ました。うなぎの串焼とツマミのほさかや。 オーダーは、鰻レバー酒蒸し、三種盛り(八幡巻、う巻き、煮こごり)、お新香、短冊タレ、塩とみその3本、ヒレ、カラクリ、キモの3本、計6本そして締めの肝吸い。汚いけど美味いです。常連さん多しのオヤジのオアシス、という感じの店。単なる印象だけど奥さんに追い出された人の良いオヤジがキンミヤとか飲みながらたむろ。そういう意味ではラテンのちょいワルオヤジがようもないのに毎日カフェにというシーンと通じるものが、あるかも! この路線で鰻串焼と言えば大井町の村上もありますが客層とシーンが違いますね。小洒落た酒も高いのおいてある村上VS飲んでも安いよ!毎晩通えるよ!ほさかや、かな？ディープなんですよ、こちらは。 お会計してみて、うわ、やすー。飲まないと本当に安いです、申し訳ない!

Perfect eel restaurant, eel tastes so fresh and the extra skewer meat was perfect. Price is very reasonable and sake overflow to a plate makes this restaurant feels just like I was dining in Midnight Diner! Love the authenticity and no nonsense feel of this very wonderful restaurant. 💯

東横線の自由が丘は、多くの方はお洒落な街と言うイメージだと思うが、懐かしい雰囲気の通りや店もたくさんある楽しい街である。 この店もそんな通りにある。 鰻の人気店。 店構えはどこから見ても大衆酒場。 行列覚悟だったか待たずに入れそうだ。 早速店内へ。 コの字カウンターの奥に案内される。 昼だが多くの人が飲んでいる。 瓶ビールを注文しよう。 大のキリンを選択する。 大瓶のビールって大衆酒場らしくて嬉しい。 昼は焼き物はきも、からくり、しろのみ。 きもとからくりを1本ずつ注文した。 店内の雰囲気も大衆酒場。 のんびりビールを飲んでいると串焼きが出てきた。 山椒と七味が渡される。 まずはそのまま。 きもは苦みをあまり感じないで食べやすい。 そしてからくり。 これは評判通りに絶品！ 食感もいいし味もいい。 これはビールより酒が飲みたくなる味だ。 昼なので我慢してビールを飲みながら美味しい鰻串をゆっくり食べる。 ビールを１本飲んだところで、うな丼を注文。 うな重かうな丼で迷ったが、初めての店なので１５００円のランチうな丼を選択した。 ビールもお代わりする。 少し待つとうな丼が出てきた。 これは１５００円なら十分な量だ。 山椒と追加タレを渡される。 早速鰻から。 ふっくらと蒸した鰻が焼きあがっていて香ばしくて旨い！ １５００円だからあまり期待していなかったが評判通りの旨さだ。 ご飯の量も丁度いい。 半分くらい食べてからタレを追加でかける。 タレのかかった鰻のご飯は、これだけで美味しいしビールのアテにもなる。 全体のボリュームも丁度よく、ここまで美味しいならうな重でも良かったかな。 ビールを飲み、鰻串を食べ昼飲みし、うな丼を堪能。 リーズナブルだし美味しいし雰囲気も良い。 夜なら鰻串の種類もたくさんある。 またゆっくり食べて飲んでみたい。
