This is the best coffee shop I’ve been to in Tokyo.
I have been living between California and Tokyo for about three years. I always miss pure espresso and the focus on espresso when I leave California.
I stumbled upon this coffee shop after going to the park. The shop is very cozy and comfortable. The staff is very friendly as well.
I ordered a cortado and was impressed that I could choose the type of bean to use for the espresso.
The presentation of the drink was exceptional and the taste was awesome. It made me feel like I was back at my favorite coffee shop in California.
I’m definitely coming back and I’m going to take some beans home to California to make espresso at home.
I highly recommend this coffee shop if you’re...
Read more(English below)
So, I really love love love this place. I never thought coffee could be this good. Would you pay for a 5$ coffee? Probably no, not every day. But this place is where you go when you want good and flavorful coffee, apart from your every day cup of overroasted Starbucks or home blend. I found this little place nearby where I live awhile back and was surprised by the flavors. Until then I’ve been a regular black coffee drinker but other than overroasted coffee I haven’t had the good stuff. To me, as long as it woke me up and as long as it’s bitter as my soul, that was all I needed. However recently I’ve been getting more into coffee quality and have been doing research on where to drink the best blacks and how to make my coffee more flavorful and good. But out of all places probably Woodberry is and will be forever my favorite. Not only do they roast their coffee right there, giving your fresh cup an immense amount of flavor and notes, the atmosphere is just breathtaking. You have the vinyl records playing giving you a soft cafe vibe that you yearn for when you’re a little stressed out. But overall the interior, a little cluttered, design is very refreshing in contrast to the perfectionistic vibe of Tokyo. The bartenders are super friendly with an amazing knowledge of the coffee which they explain to you without you having to ask. Amazing. Thank you always Woodberry I’ll come again soon :) . The menu offers a choice of beans in espresso drinks as well as a taster set of three kinds of espressos. Food is limited to some biscotti, American style cookies and donuts. Don't miss the pricey but excellent beans sold for home use.
A record player spins tunes from the 60's and 70's while hipster customers linger over their drinks and laptops at a few small tables and hard chairs. WiFi is available too.
