I recently had the opportunity to dine at Yoshikawa, a restaurant that promised an exquisite culinary journey but ultimately fell short in several key areas.
Right from the start, it was apparent that the chef lacked the necessary training and finesse expected in an omakase setting. The sushi was poorly prepared, with uneven rice and fish that didn’t showcase the quality it should have. Each piece felt rushed, lacking the artistry and attention to detail that define a true omakase experience.
While the menu offered a variety of options, the overall quality of the food was disappointingly average. The flavors were underwhelming, and many of the pairings felt uninspired. Even the seasonal specialties, which should have been highlights, were executed without the creativity and precision one hopes for in an omakase dining experience.

Read moreMust try omakase restaurant in Japan! There are 3 reason I think this omakase is highly recommended and a must try experience for anyone visiting Japan:
Affordability We spent around 12.000 Yen per person (Excluding tax and without additional drinks), which I think reasonably affordable, especially pricey food in Japan, you can easily blow 12.000 Yen with much less food quality and experience like this one).
Hospitality All the staff (Waitress and Chef) is very friendly and welcoming, even to us foreigner. The chef happily explain the food he served to all guest with smile and gratitude. The waitress also very helpful and served all the customer really well. She refilled our water without us need to ask.
Food Quality The food is AMAZING. I often eat Japanese food (Sushi and sashimi), and I think the restaurant served food with very good quality ingredients. For me the best was the Ootoro with garlic on the top, the fish literally MELTS in your mouth!
Overall we have a very great experience in the restaurant, definitely in my top list of Japanese omakase.
Thanks for the staff and crew for the warm...
