保護ねこカフェWaldbaden — Restaurant in Tottori

I came on the 3rd of May around 3.40pm. Not very crowded. They go by hourly intervals with the general admission for adults being JPY1400, with 10 minute interval extensions at JPY240(?) each.

I'm unsure if there are English notices available, but the general rules are to not use flash photography, not to be loud/disruptive, and being careful with the cats. You have to keep your bags/bag in a locker outside.

The JPY1400 fee grants you access to a small drink buffet (Qoo apple juice and barley tea + coffee + coke + lemon juice).

Many cute cats for you to play with, but whether they want to play with you depends on their mood. Some cats are more friendly than the others. They play freely amongst themselves.

You can make a reservation through LINE as well; I was a walk-in guest and it was alright. I'm sure it'd be different if I came at a crowded timing though...

The staff on-site were professional. My visit was smooth and fuss-free, and most of all, relaxing.

Reasonably priced! For an hour it was 1,400 yen.

There is a drink service (hot or cold). They provide glass cups and lids if necessary. The drinking area is separated from the cat area and is visibly clean. There is a hand-washing station right next to the drink area.

The bathroom is located in the main foyer with the entrance.

They have lint rollers and tissues. You can buy cat snacks from the gachapon for two hundred yen. They have toys for the cats you can use for free and many sitting areas. I like the layout and how creative the cafe is with the cat hideouts. It was nicely lit and pretty clean.

Most cats were friendly. But some got aggressive when it came to the snacks. Some were unfriendly even without snacks. But you could tell which to approach and which ones should be left alone. But again you have to notice the signs.

猫ちゃんは年齢、性格様々ですが猫が好きな子は猫と一緒にいますし、人間が好きじゃなさそうな子はあまり人間が触らないところにいるのでみんな良い子って感じです。 星２なのは、お邪魔したときにホームレスのようなゴミ屋敷に住んでそうな身なりの方が奥のソファーに足を伸ばして横たわっていらっしゃいました。室内に入った瞬間離れてても異臭が…。30分経っても鼻が慣れません。その方が退店してしばらく経ってから隣室のドリンクバーに寄って戻った際は匂いが気にならなかったので猫ちゃんたちが不衛生なのではなく、おそらくはその方の匂いなのでしょう…。
