Menya Takahashi — Restaurant in Tsukuba

Something about the miso tsukemen here is oddly addicting... It has just the right combination of saltiness, spiciness, and sourness. I found it a bit weird at first, and I'm also a baby when it comes to spicy food, but after having the tsukemen maybe five or so times by now, I see what the hype is about.

The place is run by one old man who trained under one of the legendary ramen masters (...apparently?), so your noodles will take a while to get to you since he does everything himself. He also has quite the personality, according to the regulars.

The interior is honestly pretty gloomy and not super inviting, plus it's rather cramped, so it gets filled up quickly, but the ramen is...

The miso taukemen here is super tasty. Its oddly addictive which makes you want to come back for more… Although it’s not just the food that makes me want to go back over and over. The owner is an old man who loves to talk and makes every visit enjoyable. There are times when he will make different things like shaved ice and give it as a free service because that’s how nice he is. It’s not just good food but a whole experience....

The best tsukemen in Tsukuba. The broth and egg have a lot of different flavors, so it has the perfect complexity. I really appreciate go there. It is not English friendly, but the owner is really helpful and friendly, his mentor was a famous japanese ramen chef and he is greatful for it. Even it is a humble place, you could see the passion in his culinary. The price is around...
