Stumbled across Amatista Coffee while wandering the busy streets of Uji, still looking for something to eat. Most coffee shops close early, and since it was already 6 PM, I was lucky they were still open — and I’m so glad I stopped by!

On my first visit, I tried their Sakura Strawberry — just wow. The barista (a lovely woman) even shared a bit about their shop and coffee, which made the experience more special.

I loved it so much that I came back the next day to try their Colombia Pink Bourbon — the aroma, the notes, everything was just impressive (I’m not a coffee connoisseur, but I love exploring different coffee profiles!).

On my third visit, I bought their Sakura Strawberry beans to take home — and today I brewed them back in my home country. The taste is exactly as I remembered — worth every yen, even if it’s a little pricey.

If you’re a coffee lover visiting Uji, this is an absolute...

Stumbled across this place earlier. Nice small store with very friendly staff.

We ordered two espresso based drinks, which given that this place roasts its own coffee beans, we had high hopes for it.

Unfortunately the espresso based latte was bad. The bean to cup machine they use isn’t able to make a nice espresso. We were very disappointed given the price and high expectations we had.

I’m sure their roasted coffee beans are great for drip / French press etc. But if you like good espresso, I’d avoid buying a drink here until they get a proper espresso machine that can extract from the...

Hands down the best coffee experience in whole of Japan, let alone uji. The little cute shop tugged in between the hustle provides such a calm and beautiful atmosphere with aroma of different beans , simple aesthetics and coffee like no other. The owner is such a sweet guy , we went to try one but we did 4. And he even made a new blend just for us to try and experience. This place is 100% recommended for coffee lover, it's definitely going to elevate...

Tried their Blue Mountain, Ethiopia Whiskey(?) and Umauma Brown Sugar Iced Latte. All these coffees were delicious and lived up to their tasting notes! Bought a few bags of beans home too. Owners are very pleasant and accomodating, letting us smell each jar of beans before transforming them into our drinks. Though it was a tad hot in the shop due to the summer weather, would definitely return!
