I can tell this place is popular but we waited maybe 20 mins since most of the Queue was fulfilled. We were thankful to find this place as we have two young children below 7 and Izakayas do not allow us to enter.

They have live Seafood and you can tell by the freshness.

The dancing abalone was not served dancing to us but it was delicious and not tough to eat at all.

The unagi impressed me the most. The sauce is not as sweet as what I normally have. However, it is very very well barbequed. It's still moist and you can taste the smokiness and some parts had a little crisp but not dried out.

The uni was fresh and sweet (murasaki variant).

Bonus to me was they have hairy crab which even a Premier Restaurant in Sapporo I had booked could not guarantee.

Service was very fast and prompt. The have English menu that you order...

From the moment I peeked into this restaurant I had a feeling it would be a good place to dine and I wasn’t wrong. The food was plentiful and very, very fresh. I was blown away with the crab sashimi-it was my first time eating it. The service was very good and it was a bit of a laugh as this must be a family run business and you could sense the little jibes and digs that they were having at each other. None the less there was an elderly lady that was handling all the cooked seafood and an elderly gentleman who seemed to be the owner was handling the sashimi-both of these people must have decades of experience as they seemed so calm and cool amongst the slight chaos. If you are in Wakkanai go here for dinner you won’t be...

I wanted to eat at this place, but the reviews on reservation and walkins were not in my favour. After walking around the town for a while with many restaurants having full capacity, I then walked in to this one, not knowing that it was the Take-chan that I originally wanted to go to. Food was lovely, service was quick, had everything that I had wanted. Was very lucky that Chef helped me order. Had the rice bowl with my favourites and some sushi. Thank you Take-Chan for making my last night in Wakkanai, Hokkaido so fitting...

This is the best restaurant in Wakkanai, by a big gap. There was a line up to get in every night with all locals in September 2022, when Japan was still closed, for good reason. The seafood is extremely fresh (they even have their own tanks), the dishes are cooked well, and service is so nice and understanding. Foreigner friendly, they take payment cards, there's even an English menu which I helped upload. Just go -- and I recommend the octopus shabu shabu set menu here for the visitors, it looks like amazing value.
