Hirata Bokujo Tonkatsu Restaurant — Restaurant in Yamagata

山形駅界隈にはいくつもの飲食店が軒を連ねているが、山形駅の改札に最も近く、且つ質の高い料理を給仕するレストランとして、このレストランと挙げておきたい。 席数も充分にあり、少人数からまとまった人数構成のテーブルに至るまで様々な人数の客にも対応可能な構成のテーブルが用意されている。常にひっきりなしに客が来店するが、客の回転は悪くはなく、混雑しても長時間待たされる機会は多くない。スタッフの接客応対も概ね良好で、不愉快な目に遭うことは恐らく皆無だろう。 給仕されるトンカツの肉質はややサッパリめ。そのためジューシーさはやや少ない様に感じるが、変に後味を残さず食べることが出来る。料理の給仕前に出されるゴマとオリジナルのタレは相性抜群で、それぞれが主張しすぎないのもいい。 山形駅界隈で飲食する場所に迷ったら、お勧めしたいレストランの一つである。

There are many restaurants in the Yamagata Station area, but this restaurant is the closest to the ticket gate and serves the best quality dishes. There are enough seats to accommodate a variety of customers, from a small group to a large group of people. Although there is always a constant stream of customers, the turnover of customers is not bad, and even when the restaurant is crowded, there are not many opportunities to wait for a long time. The staff's attitude toward customers is generally good, and you will probably not encounter any unpleasantness. The meat of the pork cutlet served to you is not too heavy and not too juicy. And it does not leave many aftertaste. The sesame seeds and the original sauce that are served before the dish is served go well together, and they are not too overpowering. This is one of the restaurants I would recommend if you are lost for places to eat and drink in the Yamagata...

The Kinkaton is recommended. It is a fatty, sweet and soft roasted pork. The Sankenton on the other hand is quite plain. Five hundred yen off for Kinkaton if you come in Friday. Cooked rice is really nice as well. Rice, cabbage and miso soup are unlimited. Two choices of dipping sauces are nice. They also have smoked olive oil and sea salt for you to try with the pork which go together...

We ordered 2 set meals that are on special, which took 800 yen off our total bill. It was succulent and has beautiful golden crispy coat of crumbs. Sooo good and satisfying!

We went today (Sunday night) thinking there is happy hour between 1400 to 1800 (based on just people's reviews) but apparently not today. Need to check with them what days they have happy...
