I wanted to eat at this izakaya because the reviews were good. However, when I arrived, the elderly man immediately told me with an angry face that they didn't have kurobuta. When I said anything else would be okay, he said it was only possible by reservation, even though the restaurant was half empty. When I checked the website, all the time slots were still available. The owner of this izakaya was very welcoming and made us feel at home. We were looking for local Yamagata delicacies, and found them here. This is a local place with people of all ages coming in, old Japanese friends speaking their life, 2 youngsters having fun time before going home, a team of young coworkers, another of older coworkers... And the food is very nice!

You may enjoy some real "kurobuta kakuni" and a bunch of nice (not touristy food from Yamagata).
